Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation attended and directed the Congress.
According to the report at the congress, at the beginning of the term, the Trade Union of Soc Trang Urban Construction Joint Stock Company had 338 union members/346 employees; by the end of the term, it increased to 359 union members/362 employees, including 112 party members. The income and life of workers are stable, the average salary in 2025 will reach 7.6 million VND/person/month, an increase of 1.2 million VND compared to the beginning of the term.
The work of caring for union members and employees is focused on. The grassroots trade union has spent more than 1.92 billion VND in cash and gifts to support the Lunar New Year; visited union members in difficulty with more than 54 million VND; and gave lucky money to workers working on the 4th of Tet with 48 million VND. Coordinate with the Company to spend 1.68 billion VND in Tet support, pay more than 3.08 billion VND in additional salaries and give 854 Tet gifts worth more than 768 million VND.
The grassroots trade union coordinated with the Provincial Federation of Labor to present hundreds of gifts to union members in difficult circumstances, employees working on New Year's Eve, supporting serious illnesses and participating in the "Union Tet Market" program. The grassroots trade union also lent 30,5 billion VND from the Trade Union Fund. Spending on mid-shift meals is more than 6.18 billion VND; providing clothes, labor protection and property support is more than 3.9 billion VND.
The grassroots trade union has mobilized support of more than 53 million VND for union members in difficult circumstances; more than 103 million VND to support workers with serious illnesses; contributed to charitable social funds such as the Trade Union Shelter Fund, the Fund for the Poor, and the Natural Disaster Prevention Fund.
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai highly appreciated the achievements of the Trade Union of Soc Trang Urban Construction Joint Stock Company. She emphasized that the key task of the new term is to continue to promote the role of representing and protecting the rights of union members and workers; maintain harmonious and progressive labor relations; proactively participate in developing substantive regulations and collective labor agreements, bringing practical benefits to union members.
Ms. Mai also suggested that the Trade Union promote the patriotic emulation movement, encourage initiatives, improve techniques, increase labor productivity, contribute to building sustainable development of enterprises, towards a green, modern and smart city. At the same time, the application of digital technology in union management and activities to improve professionalism, transparency and efficiency in serving union members
The grassroots trade union also needs to focus on training and fostering a team of cadres with professional capacity, negotiation and dialogue skills; promoting the core role in building a corporate culture. Along with that, propaganda and political and ideological education work must also be strengthened, building a team of cadres and workers who are aware, disciplined, responsible and creative, contributing to building the working class and trade union activities of Can Tho City to become more modern and strong.
The Congress elected the new Executive Committee of the Trade Union; elected delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the Can Tho City Trade Union, term 2025 - 2030. Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang was re-elected as Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Soc Trang Urban Construction Joint Stock Company for the 2025 - 2030 term.
