The shape of the factory is gradually revealed
The project to produce and process shoes and soles for export of Chung Jye Bac Kan - Vietnam Shoes Manufacturing Co., Ltd. started construction in June 2024, with a total investment of 25 million USD (more than 600 billion VND), and a capacity of 10 million pairs of shoes/year. The factory is expected to attract secondary investors when completed and put into operation, thereby creating jobs for about 5,000 local workers.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at the end of March 2025, after nearly 1 year of implementation, the project to produce and process shoes and soles for export has been basically completed. At the construction site, workers and engineers are mobilized to construct important items. Machinery leveling, rolling the road, completing a series of technical infrastructure and other auxiliary items.
Talking with reporters, the project investor representative said that by March 2025, the two most important items, the factory and warehouse, had been completed, and a number of equipment and machinery lines had been installed. Currently, contractors are focusing on implementing the completion phase of some auxiliary items to prepare for putting the plant into operation, expected in the second quarter of 2025.
Not only stopping at Huyen Tung Industrial Park, the enterprise also plans to expand investment in Ngan Son and Na Ri districts with two new factories, each with a capacity of about 1.5 million pairs of shoes/year, attracting 1,500 - 2,000 local workers. This expansion not only creates more jobs but also contributes to promoting industrial development in other districts of Bac Kan.
Expectations for jobs right in their hometown
As a mountainous province with many difficulties, most workers have to find jobs in neighboring provinces. Although they want to work near home, many people are forced to accept being away from home because they have no other choice. Therefore, when there is information that a shoe factory worth hundreds of billions of VND is about to come into operation, many workers expect this project to open up job opportunities right in the locality, helping them stay with their homeland for a long time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Bac Kan City) has been a worker in Bac Ninh for many years. She thought a higher income would help her stabilize her life, but the cost of living, expensive rent and homesicking made her always worry. "There are months of continuous overtime, when tired, weary, but thinking about salary, I try. However, after deducting all the money for living expenses and sending it back to her children, there is not much left. Far from home, when sick, I can only call home. If Bac Kan had a shoe factory, I would go back right away, have a job and still be close to my family," Ms. Hoa shared.
Similarly, Mr. Le Van Hung, a local resident, also wants to have a stable job in his hometown. Previously, he worked as a worker in Thai Nguyen, but after many years, he decided to return to his hometown to work in the fields because traveling far was too difficult. Mr. Hung said that if there is a large-scale factory that operates stably, many local workers will have the conditions to stay in their hometown instead of having to look for job opportunities elsewhere.
This project also opens up the prospect of attracting many other businesses...
