Pioneering the implementation of many high techniques
Born in 1980, after graduating from Thai Nguyen University of Medicine, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Huy went to Lao Cai to work since 2004. In any position, he is passionate about learning, researching and coming up with many initiatives to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. Every year, he and his colleagues directly treat thousands of patients, including many critical cases such as traumatic brain injury, multiple injuries, anaphylactic shock, heart failure, cerebral vascular complications, etc.
Not only stopping at conventional treatment, Dr. Huy also pioneered the implementation of many high techniques in the field of emergency resuscitation: Treating thrombosis in patients with acute stroke, cerebral drainage and hemorrhage in cerebral hemorrhage, cooling down the body by machine, DHF Online blood filtration... These techniques have saved many patients' lives and enhanced the hospital's reputation.
The male doctor also actively provides professional support to lower levels, participating in directing the level, and providing out-of-hospital emergency care. Love for the profession and a sense of responsibility have helped him and his colleagues successfully handle many serious cases, bringing confidence to patients and their families.
During his work, Dr. Huy has had many initiatives that have been widely recognized and applied, typically: Abdominal circulation propulsion technique under ultrasound guidance (2018), improvement of Hi-Lo Evac endotracheal tube for patients on ventilator (2020), improvement of VAC negative pressure absorber in the treatment of chronic wounds (2023), or the initiative in 2025 to replace the anesthetic pump in under-inflammatory venous regurgitation with endovascular laser.
According to the hospital's leaders, these improvements both increase treatment efficiency and save costs for patients, especially ethnic minorities.
Innovation of trade union activities
Not only good at his profession, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Huy is also the Chairman of the Trade Union of General Hospital No. 2. In this position, he always promoted his core role in political, ideological and movement organization. Dr. Huy and the Executive Board of the Trade Union have had many active activities in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of more than 740 hospital staff and doctors.
The union he is in charge of focuses on innovating activities: Visiting union members when they are sick, sharing difficulties, supporting learning to improve qualifications, organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities, taking care of the children of cadres. He also directed the Women's Union to organize many meaningful activities, contributing to improving spiritual life and creating cohesion in the collective. The work of developing union members and introducing outstanding union members to the Party is carried out regularly, creating a source of young cadres for the unit.
Emulation movements such as "Good workers, creative workers", "Innovation in style and service attitude of medical staff, towards patient satisfaction", or "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" have all been effectively implemented by the union, becoming a motivation for the team of medical staff to strive to contribute.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue, Chairman of Cam Duong Ward Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy is not only dedicated to his profession and devoted to the sick but also a responsible union official, always caring for the lives and thoughts of union members.
With outstanding contributions, for many consecutive years, Dr. Huy has achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, and has been commended by the Ministry of Health, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Lao Cai Department of Health. In particular, in 2025, he was honored to be awarded the noble title of "Excellent Doctor" by the President and was one of the outstanding individuals honored at the 1st Conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Lao Cai province.
