Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor said that the Trade Union Congresses at all levels are a period of extensive political and democratic activities, a festival for cadres, union members and trade union organizations, according to the motto: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor is implementing instructions for affiliated grassroots unions such as (193 grassroots unions) to prepare conditions to complete the congress before November 30, 2025.
At the congress, the grassroots trade unions will discuss and approve the summary report on trade union activities in the past term; decide on targets, directions, tasks and solutions for the next term.
Participating in giving opinions on draft documents for higher-level trade union congresses; synthesizing recommendations from union members and workers on issues related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers and trade union activities.
Participating in giving opinions on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; electing the new term union executive committee and key cadre positions; electing delegates to attend the higher-level union congress or announcing the decision to appoint the executive committee... (if any).
For grassroots trade unions that are not qualified to organize congresses and have the approval of the superior trade union, organize delegation conferences, general meetings of union members or expanded executive committee conferences to review the implementation of the congress resolution of the past term.
At the same time, set out directions, tasks, and targets for the new term. Comment on documents of the higher-level trade union congress and perform personnel work for the executive committee and delegates attending the higher-level trade union congress (if any).
The official congress for grassroots trade unions shall not exceed 1 session, and shall be encouraged to be associated with the summary of trade union work in 2025 of the unit and enterprise.
