On November 22, a training conference was held for union officials of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations.

At the conference, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that union officials need to know how to listen in order to understand the opinions, viewpoints and needs of union members, lower-level unions and society. This helps to solve practical problems, plan development goals, strengthen internal solidarity; clearly identify the shortcomings of the organization...

Another skill of a trade union official, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized, is negotiation.

According to Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, this is a process of communication and persuasion, helping to build good relationships with employees, partners and stakeholders. This skill includes listening, creative thinking, emotional control, problem analysis, etc.

Next is problem-solving skills, whereby union officials need to be able to identify, analyze and effectively solve practical problems. They need to think logically, collect information, analyze relevant factors and come up with effective solutions. They need to manage risks, frame problems, choose solutions and evaluate results.

According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the new context, union officials need to shape a new mindset about union organization and union activities. Clearly recognize strengths, motivations, resources; point out weaknesses and shortcomings in union organization and activities...

Forming goals, plans, and action programs based on the correct and appropriate directions and policies of superiors. Establishing methods and actions that are appropriate to current realities.

Union officials also need to achieve new results, creating value for all parties, especially the benefits and increased trust from union members and workers.

At the training conference for union officials of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations held on November 22, organized by the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu conveyed some key leadership skills of union officials including: Managing changes (setting goals, building strategies and plans to achieve goals. Must anticipate difficulties, obstacles and changes);

Inspire and motivate (dare to take responsibility, face challenges, accept change. Encourage and motivate employees, create a good working environment; praise and criticize at the right time and to the right extent)...

Before that, delegates also listened to a seminar on administrative reform delivered by Mr. Pham Minh Hung - Director of the Department of Administrative Reform (Ministry of Home Affairs).
