At the same time, this is an opportunity for Women's Union officers to practice the knowledge and skills acquired at the Women's Union Training Conference on the afternoon of October 10.
Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong - Chairman of Vietnam Railway Trade Union - said: "On the occasion of the founding day of the Vietnam Women's Union on October 20, Vietnam Railway Trade Union organizes the contest "Confident and shining female railway workers" to create a "playground" for female railway workers. This is also an opportunity for female workers to show their talents."
The contest "Confident and shining female railway workers" attracted 120 female railway workers to participate.
The teams will perform their performances through skits, singing, dancing, etc., praising Vietnamese women and promoting the role of female workers, civil servants, and laborers at the unit and in the Railway industry.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 10, the Vietnam Railway Trade Union held a conference to review the movement of female workers, civil servants, and laborers, and women's activities of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union for the period 2023 - 2024 and to train women's work in 2024 in Da Nang.
At the Conference, the Vietnam Railway Trade Union said that it is currently directly directing 3 direct superior trade unions and 100 grassroots trade unions with 23,890 workers. Of which, the number of female workers is 5,833, accounting for 24.8%.
However, due to the restructuring process, many units have changed their production models, so the number of female workers in the whole industry has decreased significantly, especially in units implementing divestment, transportation...
Female workers participate in all areas of the industry, over 80% of female workers work in units in the railway infrastructure management sector, transportation... The rest work in administrative and public service units.
According to the Vietnam Railway Trade Union, in 2 years (2023 - 2024), the Vietnam Railway Trade Union has supported 120 cases of workers whose children have serious illnesses and 11 workers in difficult circumstances with an amount of nearly 250 million VND.
