733 students who are children of employees working in the rubber industry were honored by the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union in coordination with the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG) on the morning of October 19.
Of these, 163 students were admitted to university with a score of 26 or higher, 3 students won third prizes, won medals in national and international Olympic competitions, excellent students and 67 students overcame difficulties and studied well, 500 students studying at a regular university with excellent grades or higher.
Mr. Le Van Thuy - Vice President of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union - said that the October 28 Association under VRG was established in 2012, and every year has organized many practical and extensive activities throughout the rubber industry to care for generations of students who are children of employees.
Over 13 years of operation, it has organized to honor 6,318 excellent students, won many international and national awards, achieved high scores in university exams and students with especially difficult circumstances, studiousness, overcoming difficulties, studying well, in remote areas, children of ethnic minority workers with a total amount of more than 22.56 billion VND.
On this occasion, the October 28 Scholarship Fund awarded students who have passed the university entrance exam with 26 points or more, who have won third prizes, medals in national and international Olympic competitions, students who have overcome difficulties - study well each with 5 million VND and students who have won the regular university entrance exam with 2 million VND each.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Hung - General Director of VRG - emphasized: From 263 students honored in 2013, to now, 733 students have been honored, demonstrating the strong spread of the learning promotion movement and the love and responsibility of the rubber industry's collective of workers.
Each scholarship is a belief, a flame of strength, helping them to go to school firmly, nurturing dreams and ambitions. They should continue to practice ethics, improve knowledge, master science and technology, especially the application of artificial intelligence in their studies, creativity and confidently reaching out to the world.
"Always maintain gratitude, a studious spirit and a desire to contribute, strive to become excellent citizens, contributing to building a rich and civilized homeland, continuing and promoting the 96-year tradition of the heroic "Red Phu Rieng" - the pride of generations of Vietnamese rubber workers", Mr. Hung said.
