When workers need a support
At 5:30 PM, the closing whistle rang at Tasa Group Joint Stock Company (Thuy Van Industrial Park), groups of workers took turns leaving the factory. In the late afternoon yellow light, many people took the opportunity to stop by the volleyball court behind the dining area to participate in a friendly match with colleagues before returning to their rented rooms.
Sitting resting after a nearly 10-hour long shift, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - a brick kiln worker - recounted that there were times when she wanted to quit her job because life was too difficult. Her husband works as a freelancer, two young children are of school age, all expenses depend on the worker's salary.
There was a time when I was sick and had to take long days off work, and my income decreased sharply. At that time, the company's Trade Union came to my house to visit, provide financial support and encourage me a lot. During Tet, young children also receive gifts. In difficult times like this, I realize that I am not left behind" - Ms. Hang shared.
Tasa Group JSC currently has more than 1,100 employees, operating in the field of tile production with a production line operating continuously in 3 shifts. The specific nature of heavy and high-intensity work makes labor pressure always present.
In the context of the volatile construction material market, maintaining jobs, stabilizing income and retaining workers is a major challenge for businesses. However, instead of just focusing on production, businesses and trade union organizations have chosen to retain workers by sharing and practical care.
Ms. Ta Thi Minh Thu - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Tasa Group Joint Stock Company - said that the Trade Union always identifies employees as the center of all activities.
We proactively coordinate with businesses to organize periodic dialogues to listen to the thoughts and recommendations of workers related to salaries, working environment, and welfare regimes. Many proposals have been received and adjusted in a timely manner by businesses" - Ms. Thu said.
In 2025, the Trade Union will coordinate with businesses to adjust and increase 2 salary grades for all employees; implement a bonus policy from 1.3 - 3.6 months of salary depending on position and work efficiency. The regimes are public and transparent, with the supervision of the Trade Union.
In addition, activities to care for union members are maintained regularly. Just for holidays, Tet, Workers' Month and supporting union members in difficult circumstances, the company's Trade Union has spent more than 1.4 billion VND to care for workers and children of workers.
Improving the spiritual life of workers
In recent years, along with the strong development of industrial parks, Phu Tho has become a destination for hundreds of large manufacturing enterprises. After the merger, the whole province currently has 30 industrial parks, of which 17 industrial parks have been put into operation, attracting hundreds of thousands of workers.
However, high work pressure, increased living costs and labor competition between localities make "job hopping" common, especially among unskilled workers.

According to statistics, the rate of labor migration in the industrial and construction sectors in many localities ranges from 18 - 22%. This forces businesses to change their approach if they want to retain workers for a long time.
No longer just stopping at paying salaries, many businesses in Phu Tho are focusing on comprehensively caring for workers through the companionship of the Trade Union organization.
At Khai Quang Industrial Park, after work, volleyball and badminton courts are always bustling with laughter. Many businesses such as Amo Vina Co., Ltd., Flex Vina Insurance Co., Ltd., Jahwa Vina Co., Ltd. or Vietnam Precision Industry Co., Ltd. 1 regularly maintain sports tournaments, art performances, and exchanges between workshops.
Mr. Duong Duc Thang - worker of Production Department 3, Vietnam Precision Industry Co., Ltd. 1 - shared: "After work, brothers often invite each other to play football and badminton. These activities help relieve pressure and create attachment, so going to work is also more comfortable.
For many workers far from home, collective playgrounds after work are not simply entertainment activities but also places for them to find sharing in the stressful industrial life.
Ms. Banh Hai Ninh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Committee of industrial parks of Phu Tho province said that currently, the whole province has 443 grassroots trade unions in industrial parks with more than 196,000 union members, accounting for about 95.4% of the total number of workers in industrial parks.
Every year, we coordinate to organize football, volleyball tournaments, art performances, workers' festivals... to create a healthy playground, increase the connection between workers and businesses and trade union organizations. When workers feel cared for, they will feel more secure in sticking with the business for a longer time. This is also a factor to help businesses stabilize production in the context of increasingly fierce labor competition" - Ms. Ninh expressed.
Keeping workers from simple things
At A My Grupo Company, Lien Hoa commune, the SPC dining hall with a scale of serving thousands of meals per day has just been put into operation during Workers' Month 2026.
The dining area is spacious and clean, meals are increased to 20,000 - 25,000 VND with a nutritious menu. For many workers, it is a very significant change after many years of working.
According to business representatives, after improving the quality of lunch meals, labor productivity increased by about 10-15%, while the turnover rate decreased significantly.
Mr. Phan Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Trade Union of A My Group Company - said that the Trade Union always proactively proposes practical policies to care for workers.
We determine that we must create a good working environment, with benefits and real concern, then workers will be attached to the business for a long time," Mr. Anh said.
Not only in construction material or mechanical manufacturing enterprises, many grassroots trade unions in the electronics sector are also innovating their operations to suit young workers.
At BYD Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. (Phu Ha Industrial Park), where there are more than 16,000 workers, the Trade Union regularly organizes football and basketball tournaments, women's contests, cultural exchanges, and even the "Lien Quan Mobile" contest for young workers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Tuan - Chairman of the Trade Union of BYD Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., caring for the spiritual life of employees not only helps increase attachment but also contributes to building corporate culture. When employees are happy and united, work efficiency is also better.
We determine that caring for workers is not only a responsibility but also an important factor in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the enterprise" - Mr. Tuan emphasized.
