Attending the program were Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Major General Ngo Hoai Thu - Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security), Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the Trade Union of the People's Police (CAND).
Speaking at the opening of the program, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the People's Police Trade Union said that in 2025, the "Thank you to Workers Day" program is organized with many practical activities. Through activities to visit and support union members in difficult circumstances, health care, organize "Trade Union Meals", implement welfare programs for union members, housing support... tens of thousands of union members and workers have directly benefited from the care activities of the trade union organization.
“Thereby, continuing to clearly affirm the role and position of the trade union organization as a reliable support, a bridge of responsibility between Party committees, unit leaders and union members and workers. Specifically, trade union levels in the People's Public Security Forces have organized nearly 50 activities in response to Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; nearly 100 dialogue, supervision, social criticism, legal advice, and policy answering activities have been effectively organized; welfare programs continue to spread to over 10,000 union members, more than 24,000 union members participating in the program “Trade Union Meal”; the creative labor emulation movement continues to develop strongly with 23 initiatives awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor...”, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao said.
At the program, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Huynh Thanh Xuan emphasized that the organization of the "Thank you to Workers Day" program is of practical significance, not only as a tribute to the silent and persistent contributions of union members and workers, but also clearly showing the consistent viewpoint of the Vietnam Trade Union organization that always takes union members and workers as the center of all trade union activities.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan said: "I highly appreciate the fact that the People's Public Security Trade Union has concretized the above spirit with many practical activities in response to Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 such as: Program "Day for Workers' Health", Forum "Union Members Contributing Opinions to Building Vietnam's Trade Union Organization in the New Era"; visiting and supporting union members in difficult circumstances, who have had labor accidents, suffer from occupational diseases, supporting Trade Union Shelters... have clearly shown the role and responsibility of the trade union organization, and at the same time spreading human values, solidarity and attachment in the People's Public Security Forces".
Speaking to direct, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour requested the People's Public Security Trade Union to focus on implementing a number of key tasks: Continue to comprehensively care for the material, spiritual, health, and working conditions of union members and workers; promote propaganda, orientation, and training of union members and workers in the period of accelerating digital transformation; effectively organize patriotic emulation movements, good labor, creative labor; continue to build a strong People's Public Security Trade Union organization, close to union members and understanding union members, and promote the role of representing and caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
At the program, a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements on welfare programs for trade union members in 2026 took place; presented 100 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; and praised 140 trade union members who are examples of "Good Labor" in 2025; awarded prizes to collectives and individuals participating in the Contest to learn about the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress organized by the People's Public Security Trade Union Committee.
