When union members are in the most difficult situation, the union is present
This October, Ms. Do Thi Xuan, a worker at the Electricity and Water Enterprise, and Ms. Hoang Linh Ngoc, a medical doctor in the Health Department of Lam Thao Suppe Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, received joy from the Trade Union organization.
The Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union and the Trade Union of Lam Thao Suppe Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company presented funding to support the construction of a new Trade Union Shelter for the two union members. Each family is supported with 50 million VND.
Ms. Do Thi Xuan is currently raising a small child alone and has to borrow to buy back the old apartment of the Company built in the 1960s. The house is over 70 square meters wide but has seriously degraded, the roof is rotten and the walls are peeling. The support of 50 million VND from the Trade Union Shelter program is a great source of encouragement, helping her to rebuild a more solid and safer house.
Ms. Hoang Linh Ngoc also has very difficult circumstances. Her husband passed away early in 2014, she raised her son born in 2008 alone. The level 4 house built in 2006 has been severely damaged, the kitchen is at risk of collapsing. Thanks to the support of 50 million VND from the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade, Ms. Ngoc has the conditions to build a new, spacious house, ensuring a safe and stable place to live to work with peace of mind and take care of her family.
It is impossible to mention the joy of Ms. Xuan and Ms. Ngoc and their family. That joy is not only that the women have new homes but also that the Trade Union organization cares about. For the two women, when they were most difficult and needed help, the Trade Union organization was present to share and support them. Because, in addition to the funds to support the Trade Union Shelter, the Vietnam Trade Union also presented gifts to new families worth 3 million VND to each family.
In response to the attention of the Vietnam Trade Union and the joy of union members in the unit, Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong - Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union - thanked the Vietnam Trade Union for its concern for workers over the years, especially in social security work.
In reality, the Trade Union Shelter program has truly become a solid support, contributing to realizing the motto "Where there are workers in difficulty, there is a Trade Union organization accompanying", clearly demonstrating the practical care role for the happiness and safety of union members and workers in the entire Industry and Trade sector.
Launching a campaign to support people affected by storms and floods
The timely and punctual presence of union members and workers of the Vietnam Trade Union also clearly demonstrated in supporting the recovery of the consequences of the recent storms. To help union members and workers quickly overcome the damage, Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union - has been the Head of the Working Group of the Industry Trade Union to visit, encourage and give gifts to units, union members and workers in Thai Nguyen province.
The Chairman of the Industry Union directed units to continue to count the number of union members and workers who suffered losses and report to the Vietnam Trade Union for continued support and assistance in helping union members and workers quickly stabilize their lives.
Faced with the heavy damage to people and property caused by storms No. 10 and 11 and prolonged floods in some northern provinces, the Vietnam Trade Union Agency has organized a launching ceremony to support people to overcome the impact of storms No. 10 and 11.
Speaking here, Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade - emphasized: Our contributions, although small, come from sincere hearts, will contribute to helping people overcome difficult times, stabilize their lives after natural disasters and spread love for their homeland and country. The entire amount of donations will be compiled and transferred to localities that are heavily affected through the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to ensure publicity, transparency and timeliness.
