Appreciate the seriousness of the dispatch
Speaking at the first Da Nang City Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030, on December 13, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - highly appreciated the activities of the Da Nang Trade Union in the recent term.
He commented: Da Nang City was formed on the basis of the merger between Da Nang City and the former Quang Nam Province, a locality with an important position in terms of national defense, security, economy - society of the Central region and the whole country.
Promoting the glorious revolutionary tradition of the locality, with the spirit of solidarity, unity, and joint efforts, in the context of many fluctuations affecting socio-economic development, the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in the city still achieved important and comprehensive results, with many outstanding highlights, marking a difficult and challenging term.
The work of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers is focused on, focusing resources on for effective implementation. Dialogue activities between workers and laborers with the National Assembly Delegation, People's Councils, People's Committees of the two localities and authorities at all levels are maintained regularly, becoming an important information channel in policy making and improvement.
In addition to the achieved results, I also acknowledge and highly appreciate the seriousness of openness and frankness in recognizing the remaining limitations of the city's trade union activities, as stated in the report.
That is the work of grasping public opinion among workers, handling social insurance debts that are still facing difficulties. The emulation movement and reward work have not been properly focused on in enterprises and workers directly involved in production. After merging administrative units, the new organizational model still has many problems, which need to continue to be adjusted and improved."
Towards increased employee satisfaction
Regarding the direction and tasks in the new term, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang agreed with the goals, targets, tasks and solutions stated in the draft political report submitted to the Congress. At the same time, he suggested some additional contents for the General Meeting to discuss.
First of all, the Da Nang Trade Union needs to continue to promote its role as a representative, caring for and protecting the rights of workers, towards sustainable development, for the benefit of workers and society.
It is necessary to pay attention to researching, advising, and proposing to the city effective policies to support union members and workers, meeting essential needs such as housing, kindergartens, cultural and sports institutions; at the same time, proactively coordinate to resolve urgent issues right from the grassroots.
Focus on dialogue and collective bargaining, especially issues related to wages, occupational safety and hygiene, working conditions, and health care for workers.
Next is to innovate the organizational model, content and methods of union activities. It is necessary to focus on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the non-state sector, especially private enterprises. Pay attention to studying appropriate forms of mobilization to gather workers in the informal sector, while improving the quality of trade union activities, building an increasingly strong organization.
Promote training and fostering a team of union officials with capacity, qualifications, enthusiasm, skills and working methods in accordance with the requirements of the new period, especially when the number of workers, laborers and union members is increasing rapidly.
I suggest that comrades seriously and effectively implement 3 approaches: close to workers, close to the grassroots, near digital space; 5 must: must listen, must dialogue, must be exemplary, must take responsibility, must report the results; 4 no: not formal, not avoidable, not pushing, not doing wrong functions. Strengthen inspection, supervision, reward - strict discipline. thoroughly grasp and implement the motto: fewer meetings, more actions; fewer slogans, more results; fewer procedures, more employee satisfaction" - Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized.
To put the congress resolution into practice soon, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that immediately after the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Da Nang City Trade Union, term I, urgently develop an Action Program to specify and implement the Resolution; prioritize resources to implement breakthroughs.
He believes that the Da Nang City Trade Union will successfully complete the set goals, contributing to realizing the aspiration to build and develop the city to become one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia, contributing worthily to the development of the Vietnam Trade Union.
