The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) said on the evening of December 12 that immediately after receiving the application for recognition of degrees provided by a number of learners, based on the documents and confirmation of the London College of Design and Fashion, the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) issued response documents, stating: The university degree granted by Liverpool John Moores University to these students is not eligible for recognition according to current regulations.
On the morning of December 12, 2025, representatives of the Ministry's professional units (Department of Quality Management, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Higher Education, Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education and Ministry Office) met to review, discuss, and agree to advise the Ministry's leaders on a handling plan.
Based on existing records, documents, and information, comparing with current legal regulations, relevant professional units of the Ministry assessed that this is a complicated issue, involving many legal entities (Lonigon - Hanoi Fashion College Company Limited; London Academy of Design and Fashion (Hanoi); London College of Design and Fashion (Hanoi); London Academy of Fashion; Liverpool John Moores University...), showing signs of not complying with current regulations on international training linkages.
Therefore, it is necessary to continue to request relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to report and provide more information on training activities, training linkages, and granting of degrees of the London College of Design and Fashion to verify and clarify the issues reported by press agencies and learners.
The Ministry of Education and Training is also considering the establishment of an inspection team to comprehensively inspect the activities of the London College of Design and Fashion under the state management of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that it will handle the case in accordance with legal regulations, strictly handle violations (if any) according to its authority; at the same time, ensure the legitimate and legal rights of learners on the basis of full compliance with current regulations.
