In recent days, many former students have been upset because their bachelor's degrees awarded by Liverpool John Moores University (UK) have not been recognized in Vietnam. They studied at the London College of Design and Economics (LCDF - Hanoi), before being introduced by the school's leaders to the joint program with the university.

The London College of Design and Fashion said on the morning of December 13 that the school acknowledged shortcomings in the process of updating Vietnam's regulations and would like to admit its mistake for not promptly notifying students transferring to the bachelor's training program at UK universities that these programs have not met the requirements for official recognition in Vietnam.
According to the school, the universities introduced by this organization to students are all prestigious, famous and have degrees recognized in "many major countries". However, to be recognized in Vietnam, it must " go through a complex process".
"The school sincerely apologizes for the incident that has caused concern to students and parents" - the school's announcement clearly stated.
The school said that it has coordinated with the British Embassy to actively discuss with the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant management agencies to find solutions, with the top priority of ensuring the highest rights for learners, and at the same time, committed to reviewing the entire legal process to ensure that academic information is always updated fully and accurately.
Previously, on the evening of December 12, the Ministry of Education and Training said that immediately after receiving the application for recognition of degrees provided by a number of students, based on the documents and confirmation of the London College of Design and Fashion, the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) issued replies, stating: The university degree granted by Liverpool John Moores University to these students is not eligible for recognition according to current regulations.
Based on existing records, documents, and information, compared with current legal regulations, relevant specialized units of the Ministry assessed that this is a complicated issue, involving many legal entities, showing signs of not properly implementing current regulations on international training linkages.
The Ministry of Education and Training is also considering the establishment of an inspection team to comprehensively inspect the activities of the London College of Design and Fashion under the state management of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that it will handle the case in accordance with legal regulations, strictly handle violations (if any) according to its authority; at the same time, ensure the legitimate and legal rights of learners on the basis of full compliance with current regulations.
