These days, union officials at all levels of Da Nang city are truly "the whole left is down" to support and encourage union members and workers affected by floods.
At the city level, before the flood receded, the City Labor Federation coordinated with the Da Nang City Youth Union to organize delegations to visit and encourage the families of union members and workers in the communes of Go Noi, Duy Xuyen, Thu Bon, Dai Loc, Vu Gia - the places that were deeply flooded, causing the most damage to Da Nang people during this flood.
Not only visiting and encouraging, the Da Nang Labor Federation and City Labor Union also presented 1,000 gifts (each gift worth 300,000 VND including necessities) to promptly share and encourage workers to overcome difficult times, quickly overcome and clean up after the storm to return to life.
"The gifts and the visits and encouragement from the Trade Union organization at this time not only promptly support my family with very timely necessities but also bring very warm feelings of sharing" - Ms. Huong, a worker in Dai Loc commune, said emotionally.
For ward and commune trade unions, right from the flood, the trade union organization has proactively connected and contacted its union members to grasp information and count the damage in order to promptly propose to the higher-level trade unions for encouragement and support in spirit and material terms. In many places, such as Hoa Xuan commune, the Commune Trade Union proactively goes to each agency and enterprise to grasp the situation as well as give support gifts, instead of waiting for statistics, giving them in batches as usual.
Not only visiting, encouraging, and giving gifts to union members and workers affected by floods, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also sent working groups led by Vice Chairmen to proactively visit, encourage, and give gifts to forces on duty to prevent and combat natural disasters, landslides, and flash floods in mountainous communes such as Tra Tan, Tra My, Hoi An, Hoi An Tay, etc.
These are officers, soldiers and volunteers who are day and night bamming and blocking at areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and sudden rising water levels... to ensure the safety of people and property.
At each visiting point, in addition to giving gifts worth 3 million VND, the leaders of the Da Nang City Labor Federation acknowledged the efforts, high sense of responsibility and dedication of the forces on duty at the checkpoints; expressed their deep gratitude to the officers, soldiers and volunteers who overcame difficulties, regardless of day or night, and were always ready to respond to flood situations.
