Organize many activities to care for union members and workers
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, from December 16 to 21, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union in collaboration with the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) organized the annual program "Tet Sum Vay - Workers' Festival - Charity Market" in the Southern region at Viet Thang Corporation - JSC and Phong Phu Corporation.
At Tet Sum vay held at Viet Thang Corporation - Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union Joint Stock Company, Tet gifts were given to 39 union members and workers in difficult circumstances in Viet Thang cluster, including essential necessities and cash of 1 million VND/person.
Also here, the charity booth attracted more than 26 participating units with 40 booths such as: Phong Phu, Nha Be, May Viet Thang, Quoc Te Phong Phu, Lien Phuong, Dong Nai, Binh Minh, May 10... and many businesses outside the industry with essential products such as clothes, blankets, sheets, pillows, shoes, cosmetics, food, cosmetics... ensuring quality, preferential prices reduced from 20-70%. The booths were organized with the goal of "Joining hands for workers in the Textile and Garment industry"... This is just one of many practical activities to care for union members and workers organized by the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - President of Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union - said that with the characteristics of low level of workers and low income compared to other industries, in implementing Action Program No. 399 of the Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to implement Resolution 20-NQ/TW dated January 28, 2008 of the Central Committee of the Party (10th tenure) on "Continuing to build Vietnamese workers in the period of industrialization and modernization of the country", Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union has focused on activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights of workers.
The negotiation and signing of the Collective Labor Agreement of the industry are organized periodically; the effectiveness of the Legal Consulting Office is promoted; Tet Sum Vay - Workers' Festival - Charity Market are organized at 6 locations nationwide; activities to care for workers and their families such as giving savings books, rewarding children of workers who study well and other unexpected activities. These activities have supported workers in difficult times and encouraged them to make efforts in labor production.
Training to attract human resources, strengthen the team
The trend of labor shifting to service and high-tech industries makes it difficult for the textile industry to attract high-quality human resources.
Besides, the change in social psychology of generations of workers in the working environment raises management issues and has a significant impact on the task of building a workforce that meets the requirements of the industrialization and modernization period.
To overcome this situation, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union has focused on training. The 2023-2028 term is the second consecutive term of the Construction Trade Union and has implemented one of the five major work programs called "Training, fostering, improving qualifications and adaptability for cadres, union members and workers".
Thereby, from the beginning of the previous term until now, the Industry Trade Union has directly organized 106 training courses at the grassroots trade unions with more than 4,700 participants with diverse content, not only professional but also soft skills. In particular, the Industry Trade Union has created a driving force for emulation in production labor through many movements and industry-level awards such as the Creative Labor Festival, the Skilled Worker Competition, the Nguyen Thi Sen Award, and the Typical Textile Family...
