Vietnam Electricity Trade Union visits workers constructing a power pull project to Con Dao

Can Tho - On August 7, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union visited and encouraged workers constructing the 110kV Soc Trang - Con Dao power line.

The working group was led by Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - with the participation of Mr. Ngo Thanh Phuong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Project Management Board 3, Head of the Construction Package 1 Executive Board of Power Construction Group 1 (PC1) and representatives of related units.

The group reached the location of poles 28, 29 and 30 of the 110kV Soc Trang - Con Dao line (section through Vinh Chau ward, Can Tho city). At the visit, Mr. Uong Quang Huy encouraged and shared the difficulties and hardships of workers. Mr. Huy emphasized the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, overcoming storms and winds" to complete on schedule.

"With only a few dozen days left, units need to continue to strive to successfully complete the Prime Minister's direction. The glory belongs to those who are on time" - Mr. Uong Quang Huy said.

During the visit, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union presented 60 million VND to visit and encourage workers. This action not only shows the deep concern of the trade union organization but is also a great source of motivation to help workers overcome all challenges, ensuring progress and quality of the project.

According to the progress report, the project is entering the decisive stage. Specifically, the 110kV expansion road at the 220kV Vinh Chau station has been completed. As for the line, 28/32 pillars have been installed; the ropes from pillars 1-13 have been pulled; the underwater cables have been spread; the GIS station is being installed.

The project is expected to be completed and energized on August 18, 2025. The completion of the national grid power supply project to Con Dao will bring great socio-economic benefits, contributing to ensuring energy security and developing the island economy of the Fatherland.

Previously, on March 8, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) coordinated with Vietnam Electricity Trade Union to organize a launching ceremony to compete to complete the construction progress goals of the National Power Grid Supply Project for Con Dao.

The project has a total investment of 4,923 billion VND. The scale of the project includes a 110kV line of 103.7km long, including 17.5km of overhead line through Soc Trang (old), 77.7km of underground cables across the sea and 8.5km of underground cables on Con Dao island. The project also includes the expansion of Vinh Chau 220kV transformer station and the construction of GIS 110/22kV transformer station in Con Dao.
