At the preliminary conference on the workers' movement and trade union activities in the first 6 months of 2026 held on June 29 in Cao Lanh ward, it was shown that with many practical care activities, the Red Lotus Land Trade Union organization is truly a fulcrum to help workers stabilize their lives and feel secure in sticking with businesses.
More than 315,000 union members are cared for during Tet
With the motto "All union members and workers have Tet, celebrate Tet", Dong Thap Trade Union levels have mobilized more than 91.375 billion VND to care for 315,513 turns of union members and workers during the Binh Ngo Tet 2026. Of which, more than 33 billion VND was mobilized from Party committees, authorities, businesses and socialized sources.
Not only giving Tet gifts, Trade Union levels also organized many activities imbued with the spirit of sharing such as the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party", year-end meals at enterprises, supporting bus tickets for workers to return to their hometowns, visiting workers working on New Year's Eve and organizing lucky draws with many valuable gifts.
The program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" organized by the Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) in 4 industrial zones and clusters has attracted more than 2,000 workers and laborers to participate, contributing to bringing a warm and meaningful spring to workers. These activities not only bring material value but also affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in the most difficult and meaningful times for union members and laborers.
Creating a social security foundation from the roof to preferential capital sources
In addition to caring for Tet, the "Trade Union Shelter" program continues to become a fulcrum to help many union members in difficult circumstances stabilize their lives.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Management Board of the "Trade Union Shelter" Fund continued to support the construction and repair of houses for union members. Through border-oriented programs, many new houses were awarded to union members, officials, and soldiers with a total budget of nearly 600 million VND.
In parallel, trade union levels maintain many activities to support union members who suffer from labor accidents, serious illnesses, and provide capital for family economic development, contributing to expanding the social security network for workers.
Another bright spot is the expansion of access to legal capital sources through the CEP Microfinance Organization. In the first 6 months of 2026, CEP disbursed more than 146.372 billion VND for 2,843 workers to borrow capital. Preferential capital not only helps workers repair houses, purchase vehicles, cover tuition fees for their children, but also becomes a "shield" against the risk of falling into black credit, contributing to financial stability and improving the quality of life.
Caring from the most practical things
Along with large-scale social security programs, the Dong Thap Trade Union continues to focus on policies that directly affect the daily lives of workers. In the first 6 months of the year, trade union levels successfully negotiated with 19 businesses to adjust and increase the value of meals, contributing to improving nutrition, regenerating labor capacity and improving the quality of the working environment.
Many practical models such as "Trade Union Meals", "Trade Union Supermarkets", "Happy Bus Trips", "Online Legal Advice", "Pregnant Women and Child Raising Clubs"... continue to be maintained, meeting the diverse needs of union members and workers.
From Tet gifts, meaningful homes, preferential capital to improved meals, Dong Thap Trade Union's care activities have contributed to building a sustainable social security foundation for workers. In the context of many economic difficulties, these practical programs continue to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization as a reliable support, accompanying union members and workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable and sustainable labor relations.
