Union members and workers send their thoughts to the 14th Congress
The 14th National Party Congress takes place in the context of the country entering a new stage of development, setting higher requirements for rapid, sustainable growth and putting people at the center.
The process of economic restructuring, innovation of the growth model, organizational structure arrangement and digital transformation is opening up many opportunities, but also posing many challenges to ensuring jobs, income and lives for workers and laborers.
In that context, union members and workers (DV, NLD) in Gia Lai expressed many thoughts, aspirations and expectations that the 14th Congress will have practical and practical decisions, focusing more strongly on caring for life, protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
Mr. Doan Ngoc Duc - Vice Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of An Khe Sugar Factory - hopes that the Congress will pay more deep and comprehensive attention to social security policies, especially social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and housing for workers and employees in difficult circumstances.
Along with ensuring social security, strong policies are needed to improve income, improve wages, ensure the minimum regional living standard and improve the quality of life for workers in the context of increasing living costs, so that workers can feel secure in working and sticking with the business for a long time.
I hope the Congress will continue to pay attention to consolidating and enhancing the role of the Trade Union organization, so that the Trade Union is truly a solid support, a voice representing workers, contributing to building the Vietnamese working class to become stronger and stronger, meeting the development requirements of the country in the new period," Mr. Duc expressed.
Sharing the same concern, Mr. Nguyen Phi Thuong - Maintenance Engineer of Fresenius Kabi Vietnam Joint Stock Company - expects the Congress to continue to pay more attention to the jobs and long-term life of employees, especially training policies and improving skills to adapt to the new requirements of work and technology.
Recommendations of Gia Lai Trade Union sent to the 14th Congress
From the practical activities of the Trade Union and the work of representing and caring for union members and workers in the past time, the Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union respectfully proposed that the 14th National Party Congress pay attention to, consider and have policies for a number of key issues.
First of all, the Trade Union proposed that the Congress continue to improve mechanisms and policies to encourage businesses to create sustainable jobs, improve wages, income and ensure social security for workers, especially in industrial parks, economic zones and concentrated production areas.
Because practice in Gia Lai shows that the process of economic restructuring and investment attraction, especially in the fields of processing industry, renewable energy, logistics and high-tech agriculture, has created more jobs, but the stability and quality of jobs between regions are still not uniform.
The Trade Union proposed that the Congress pay attention to promulgating breakthrough guidelines and policies on the development of social housing and worker dormitories associated with urban planning, industrial parks, and economic zones; mobilize social resources and businesses to jointly participate in investing in facilities to serve the material and spiritual life of workers. Because the difficulties in housing, kindergartens, schools, medical facilities and cultural and sports facilities are still a major issue in Gia Lai.
After the merger, Gia Lai has a wide development space, diverse industries, but the quality of human resources, especially technical labor and highly skilled labor, is still limited.
From that reality, the Trade Union proposed that the Congress pay attention to directing the promotion of vocational education innovation; strengthening links between the State, businesses and trade union organizations in training, retraining and improving skills for workers, considering this as a fundamental solution to improve labor productivity, income and competitiveness of the economy.
Gia Lai Trade Union also proposed that the Congress continue to improve policies and laws on harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations, in which promote the role of the Trade Union organization. Because practice shows that in some businesses, especially non-state-owned enterprises, labor relations still have potential complexities.
Finally, the Provincial Trade Union proposed that the Congress continue to affirm the role and position of the working class and the Trade Union organization in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. It is necessary to have policies and solutions to support the Trade Union in innovating organizations, promoting the application of digital transformation, improving the quality of the team of Trade Union officials, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
Gia Lai Provincial Trade Union believes that the important policies of the 14th National Party Congress will create strong motivation to take better care of the lives of workers and employees; thereby promoting the core role of the working class in the rapid and sustainable development of Gia Lai province in particular and the country in general.
