Lao Cai Trade Union visits families of victims of landslide in Thanh Hoa

Lao Cai - The working delegation of the Provincial Labor Federation and departments and agencies has just visited and encouraged the families of victims in the landslide at the quarry that occurred in Thanh Hoa.

The delegation visited and encouraged the families of the victims, including: Mr. Lo Van T (born in 1986); Lo Van Q (born in 1989) and Mr. Hoang Van N (born in 1988), all residing in Nam Cuong village, Gia Hoi commune, Lao Cai province, who were injured in a labor accident and died while working at the stone mine of Anh Tuan Co., Ltd., in Cam Tu commune, Thanh Hoa province.

On behalf of the leaders of Lao Cai province, the working delegation cordially inquired, shared and encouraged the families of the victims to overcome the pain of loss soon.

At the same time, he requested the Party Committee and local authorities of Gia Hoi commune to direct mass organizations to promptly support and help the affected families and organize funerals thoughtfully according to traditional customs.

In order to promptly share difficulties with families with loved ones in distress, the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee supported each family of the deceased victim with 25 million VND from the local disaster relief fund, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Lao Cai province supported each family with 25 million VND from the Provincial Relief Mobilization Fund.

The Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) and the Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society also organized funerals and supported each family of the deceased victim with 2.5 million VND.

Previously, at about 5 pm on May 20, 3 workers residing in Gia Hoi commune, Lao Cai province were mining stone at the stone mine of Anh Tuan Co., Ltd. (Cam Tu commune, Thanh Hoa province), when a large volume of soil and rock from the mountain suddenly collapsed at the foot of the mountain.

As a result, 2 people died on the way to the hospital, and the other 2 were buried by rocks and did not survive.

Immediately after the incident occurred, Thanh Hoa provincial leaders directly arrived at the scene, mobilizing maximum manpower and many specialized vehicles and machinery to search for buried victims.

At about 8:30 am on May 21, functional forces found the bodies of the victims. After completing the procedures according to regulations, the bodies of the victims were handed over to their families for burial according to local customs.
