Many policies to care for workers are higher than the law
Working groups of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor have just conducted a survey on the situation of grassroots trade union activities and the implementation of policies and regimes at enterprises in the province, especially in the last months of 2025. According to the reporter's records, many grassroots trade unions have had many good ways to care for the rights of workers.
The monitoring delegation of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor surveyed the situation of grassroots trade union activities and the implementation of policies and regimes at Chang Shin Vietnam Company Limited (Tan Trieu ward). Here, the Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Company Limited was established in 1996. The whole company has about 40,000 employees, nearly 100% of whom are union members.
Since 2015, the company's leaders have closely coordinated with the grassroots trade union to organize quarterly dialogues with employees to grasp the thoughts, aspirations and promptly respond to recommendations.
In the Collective Labor Agreement, employees enjoy many policies higher than the law such as: The 13th month bonus is 100% of the basic salary, increased by 5% per year according to seniority; holiday bonuses of 200,000 VND/person; employees after working for 1 year are given insurance by the enterprise for 1 relative in the family...
In 2024, the company's grassroots trade union also established a team of "volunteers" specializing in repairing houses for workers. This is a very practical activity to care for workers' housing, in addition to the Trade Union Shelter activity and giving gifts to workers who build new houses (about 10 new Trade Union Shelters are built each year).
Replicating good models to care for workers' lives
In addition, Chang Shin Vietnam Company Limited also organizes breakfast for workers, in which workers only pay 4,000 VND. Ms. Doan Thi Kim Loan - Vice President of the Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Company Limited said that this has been operating since 2014. Accordingly, each employee will only have to pay 4,000 VND/person (excluding salary) for breakfast at the company, while the company will support 10,000 VND/person. The total breakfast is 14,000 VND/person, applicable to all staff. On average, 7,000 employees register for breakfast per day.
The monitoring delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, surveyed the activities of the Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Company Limited and said that in the past time, the grassroots trade union has made efforts to coordinate with the enterprise to ensure regimes, policies, jobs, and income for workers; at the same time, grasped the difficulties and advantages of the enterprise, after the province operated the local government at 2 levels. The delegation suggested that the grassroots trade unions of enterprises replicate good models in caring for workers' lives and stabilizing labor relations in the last 6 months of 2025.
This time, the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial Federation of Labor also worked with the Trade Union of Pouchen Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa Ward, Dong Nai Province), a trade union here established in 1995 and currently has nearly 14,000 union members, with a gathering rate of 100%.
Here, business leaders and grassroots trade unions have coordinated to effectively implement legal regulations on Collective Labor Agreements; develop labor discipline regulations, establish grassroots mediation councils... Enterprises create favorable conditions for grassroots trade unions to promote their roles.
