Health care for Industrial Park workers
In March 2025, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks - Economic Zones of Kon Tum province coordinated with the VNVC Kon Tum Vaccination Center to organize a workshop to promote disease prevention and control, raising awareness of health protection for union members and workers.
At the workshop, health experts shared many useful knowledge, helping female workers and laborers better understand how to protect their health and the community. The doctor instructed on how to recognize symptoms and prevent diseases such as measles, chickenpox, HPV, back pain, bone and joint diseases, cardiovascular diseases, etc. At the same time, the program also provided advice on age and the appropriate vaccine for each group of subjects.
Ms. Le Thi Hanh, a garment worker, happily shared: I have had back pain for a long time but the cause is unknown. Today, after being examined by a doctor and consulted on how to take care of my health, I feel more secure.
Sharing the same joy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a coffee processing worker, said: Normally, I have a busy job so I have little time to go to the doctor. Now that there are dedicated doctors who advise me for free, I am very happy.
In addition to consulting, medical experts are also ready to answer questions, helping female workers master knowledge of health care for themselves and their children of school age.
In addition, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of the province also supported nearly 70 female union members, each of whom was vaccinated with one dose of influenza vaccine to protect their health.
Improving health benefits for workers
In Gia Lai, the Provincial Economic Zone Trade Union signed a cooperation agreement with Cao Nguyen Eye Hospital (Tra Ba Ward, Pleiku City), bringing many practical benefits to union members and workers.
According to the agreement, Cao Nguyen Eye Hospital will provide free examination, screening and consultation for eye diseases such as cataracts, glucose, retinopathy, skin conditions, eye complications caused by diabetes, high blood pressure, severe myopia and refractive errors. When coming for the examination, union members only need to present a union membership card to receive the incentives.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, a wood workshop worker in Tra Da Industrial Park, shared: "Hard work, dusty environment makes me often have pain and tired eyes. Thanks to the doctor's advice on prevention and a reasonable diet, my condition has improved significantly."
Many workers expressed their joy when participating in health welfare programs, thanks to which they have a better understanding of their health and have appropriate care measures. This is a meaningful activity, helping workers raise awareness of health protection, ensuring productivity at work as well as quality of life.
In the coming time, Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces will continue to promote investment attraction in industrial parks, creating more job opportunities for workers. At the same time, local authorities will increase support for rural workers and laborers through vocational training programs and improve social security policies.
Ensuring better rights and working conditions not only helps workers feel secure in their work but also promotes sustainable development for businesses and society.
