Nghia Lo Trade Union affirms its role and position in the new period

Lao Cai - Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union Congress has profound political significance, marking a new stage of maturity for the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers.

On the afternoon of October 30, Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union held its 1st Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

The Congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Cao Minh - Permanent Vice President of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation - along with representatives of local departments, branches, unions, and 20 Standing Committees of Party Committees of communes and wards in the ward's management union area.

In her opening speech, Ms. Vuong Thi Anh - Chairwoman of Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union - emphasized: "The First Congress is a special event, affirming a new development step of the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union - an organization that both inherits the tradition of the workers' movement and is a pioneer in innovation, creativity, caring for the lives and legitimate rights of workers".

In the 2023 - 2025 term, Nghia Lo ward trade union activities have achieved many outstanding results in all fields.

Trade unions at all levels have effectively performed their role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. 100% of administrative and public service units have organized conferences for civil servants; 60% of non-state enterprises organize periodic conferences for workers; 19 units are supervised in the implementation of labor laws, social insurance, and collective bargaining.

Activities to care for union members' lives have been comprehensively implemented with many meaningful programs such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Union Tet Market", "Union Meal", "Union Shelter". In just 3 years, nearly 5,000 union members have been visited and supported with a total cost of more than 5 billion VND, 16 "Union Shelters" have been donated to union member households in difficult circumstances.

Entering the new phase, the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union focuses on applying information technology, digital transformation in management, operation and propaganda. The grassroots trade unions have organized meetings, meetings, and professional exchanges through digital platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, and public service email.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Cao Minh - Permanent Vice President of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation - affirmed: "Nghia Lo Ward Labor Union has demonstrated its mettle and high sense of responsibility in all activities. The bold innovation, application of digital technology, taking good care of union members' lives and developing organizations are proof of the solid maturity of the workers' movement and ward union activities".

At the congress, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Inspection Committee of Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union and delegates to attend the higher-level Congress.

Ms. Vuong Thi Anh was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union for the 2025 - 2030 term.
