The Congress was attended by 150 official delegates, representing more than 15,000 union members and workers in the whole province.
Speaking at the Congress, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the Lang Son Trade Union's increasingly better performance of the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members.
The Trade Union has actively contributed to the development of policies and laws with more than 200 documents at the provincial level; at the same time, seriously implemented the contribution of documents under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu especially emphasized the effectiveness of dialogue and collective bargaining. According to statistics, about 93% of enterprises with trade unions in the province have signed collective labor agreements.
Collision labor agreements are likened to sub-laws of enterprises, because they are direct agreements between trade unions and employers, bringing better conditions and benefits to employees than the minimum regulations of the law, said Mr. Hieu.

Over the past two years, trade unions at all levels of Lang Son province have cared for and supported more than 143,000 union members and workers; organized "Union Meals" for more than 20,000 union members.
In an area with few union members, these are very impressive numbers, demonstrating the great efforts of the union staff, the Vice President of the General Confederation of Labor noted.
Regarding the organization, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the results of developing union members and strengthening grassroots unions.

In the past term, Lang Son Trade Union has newly established 21 grassroots trade unions, admitting more than 5,500 union members, reaching 138% of the target; introducing more than 3,000 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission, of which more than 2,200 people have been admitted. Inspection and supervision work has been seriously implemented, contributing to improving discipline and operational efficiency.
Entering the 2025-2030 term, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor pointed out a series of new challenges including digital transformation, green transformation, requirements for implementing international labor standards; global geopolitical fluctuations.
Especially the context of allowing the formation of organizations representing workers in enterprises. This puts the trade union in front of the competitive requirement for representative quality.
To maintain its role, trade unions must be close enough to workers, trust enough for them to choose and trust. The trade union must not only stop at movement activities, but must strongly shift to dialogue and negotiation, bringing specific and practical benefits to union members, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized.
He also requested trade unions at all levels to innovate propaganda and mobilization work; improve the quality of human resources; promote the creative and lifelong learning movement; at the same time, continue to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions, especially in the non-state enterprise sector.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, only when the congress resolution is concretized into an action in each grassroots trade union, entering the lives of workers, will the role of a "pillar" of the trade union organization be truly affirmed in the new development stage.
