Practical care for the lives of union members and workers
According to the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation, in 2025, trade unions at all levels have proactively coordinated with authorities and professional departments at the same level to develop and implement plans to organize activities, respond to Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, associated with propaganda and celebrating major holidays. There are 1,956 units and businesses organizing activities to respond to Workers' Month. Trade unions at all levels have given over 46,900 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who suffered labor accidents... with an amount of over 24.4 billion VND. The Provincial Labor Federation organized "Trade Union Meals" with nearly 11,700 union members and workers participating, with an amount of over 700 million VND.
The Provincial Labor Federation regularly directs Trade Unions at all levels to develop plans, coordinate with governments, units, and businesses at the same level to organize the implementation of the Grassroots Democracy Regulation; pay attention to the negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements in enterprises, focusing on practical commitments that benefit workers such as: Reduced working hours for heavy and hazardous jobs; increasing the quota, quality of mid-shift meals to ensure nutrition, housing support, labor productivity bonuses...
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, the Provincial Labor Federation organized the "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" Program and the "Trade Union Tet Market" Program, at the Program, 17,690 gifts were presented to union members and workers and 32 "Trade Union Warm Houses" houses were supported for union members in difficult housing circumstances, with an amount of 14.8 billion VND; Grassroots-level Trade Unions directly organized 32 "Tet Sum vay" Programs attracting over 11,800 union members and workers to participate, with more than 14,300 union members and workers receiving gifts at the Program, totaling over 16.2 billion VND.
Social activities, care for welfare, and support for union members and workers, especially union members and workers in difficult circumstances in life, who have suffered labor accidents and occupational diseases, have been maintained by trade union levels..., there have been over 12,800 union members and workers visited and given gifts by grassroots-level trade unions directly, with an amount of over 6.8 billion VND; Continuing to mobilize union members to contribute to the "Trade Union Society" fund. 220 "Trade Union Shelter" houses have been supported, built, and repaired for union members in housing circumstances, with a total amount of over 26.5 billion VND. Rotation capital contribution without interest, signing credit guarantees for bank loans, and charity kitchen activities have been concerned and maintained by Party committees, authorities, and trade unions with more than 44,000 union members borrowing, participating in rotating capital contribution without interest with an amount of over 20.6 billion VND.

Promoting strengths after merger
The arrangement and streamlining of the organizational structure has directly impacted Trade Union activities; the area in charge is large, the number of grassroots trade unions and union members assigned to the Provincial Labor Federation for direct management is large, so there are difficulties in deploying and organizing all aspects of work. However, after merging An Giang province and Kien Giang province into An Giang province (new), the Provincial Labor Federation promptly amended, supplemented and issued documents related to organizational work.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh said that the key task and solution for 2026 is to coordinate with functional sectors to inspect and supervise the compliance with labor laws, policies for workers on labor, wages, and social insurance; promptly grasp and forecast the situation of labor relations, prevent and participate in resolving labor disputes and collective work stoppages.
Guiding and directing grassroots trade unions of enterprises to coordinate in organizing dialogues, negotiations, signing, and implementing collective labor agreements. Continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements, creating a widespread, practical and effective emulation environment. Deploy the "Digital Initiative" Program among union members and workers in 2026.
Continue to innovate the content and methods of Trade Union activities, focusing on grassroots levels. Thoroughly grasp and well implement the motto: Meeting less, act more; fewer slogans, more results, fewer procedures and more employee satisfaction. Strengthen and expand the signing of coordination regulations while improving the quality of coordination with departments and branches, promoting the overall strength of the political system in organizing the implementation of key tasks, promptly removing and resolving difficulties and obstacles in Trade Union work," Mr. Thinh emphasized.
Commenting on Trade Union activities in the past time, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc highly appreciated the efforts and important contributions of the Trade Union organization, the business community and all workers, civil servants, and employees to the overall development of the province.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested trade union levels, the business community and all union members and workers in the province to continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, proactively innovate strongly and more comprehensively the content and methods of operation to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Trade union levels need to continue to clearly affirm their role as a solid and reliable representative organization of union members and workers; proactively grasp the ideological situation, life, and jobs, promptly advise and propose to Party committees and authorities practical and effective solutions to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
It is proposed that the business community continue to accompany the government and the Trade Union organization to pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual life, ensuring jobs, stable income, and improving working conditions for workers. Strengthen dialogue, sharing, building a safe, civilized, and modern working environment; proactively innovate governance, improve competitiveness, and link business development with social responsibility" - Mr. Phuoc emphasized.
