Many units far exceed union member development targets
The results of union member development in the first months of 2026 show the increasing attractiveness of the Trade Union organization. At many businesses, employees not only actively participate but also actively join the Trade Union as soon as they start working. Many grassroots trade unions have completed and exceeded the target for union member development after the first half of 2026. The grassroots Trade Union of Ty Bach Co., Ltd. alone developed 1,016 new union members, nearly 3 times the assigned target.

According to Ms. Lam Thi Ngoc Ha - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Ty Bach Co., Ltd., from the actual needs of workers and the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization, the number of new union members has continuously increased in recent times. Currently, the unit has 9,605 union members out of a total of 9,621 workers.
Trade union attraction spreads strongly in businesses
Not only completing the targets of developing union members, many grassroots trade unions in Vinh Long also maintain a very high rate of workers joining the Trade Union organization, contributing to ensuring rights and improving cohesion in enterprises.
At My Phong Leather Shoe Co., Ltd., union member development continues to record positive results.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of My Phong Leather Shoe Co., Ltd. - said that from the beginning of the year to now, the unit has developed about 500 new union members, reaching a rate of 100% of employees working at the company being admitted to the Trade Union organization. Currently, the company has 4,768 union members out of a total of 4,768 workers. According to Mr. Nam, the grassroots trade union determines that all employees need to have full access to equal care, support and welfare regimes. Therefore, the unit always pays attention to mobilizing employees to join the Trade Union as soon as they start working.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation said that in the first 6 months of 2026, the whole province has newly developed over 13,500 union members, reaching more than 51% of the annual plan; established 26 grassroots trade unions, reaching over 50% of the set target. In Workers' Month 2026 alone, 6,867 union members have been developed and 14 new grassroots trade unions have been established.
Currently, the whole province manages 635 grassroots trade unions and professional unions with 175,532 union members out of a total of 184,469 workers. In the coming time, trade union levels will continue to innovate operations, improve the quality of care and protection of union members' rights, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises.
