Many emulation movements, policies, and welfare programs have been implemented by trade unions at all levels according to targets set in accordance with reality; the role of the organization continues to affirm, worthy of being the support and trust of TKV cadres, union members, and workers. Some new contents and models have been implemented, the quality of activities of grassroots trade unions has many positive changes.
Taking care of a practical, synchronous life and turning towards workers
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Chairman of TKV Trade Union - said that in the recent period, trade unions at all levels in the industry have focused on the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; activities to care for the interests and welfare of union members and workers have been innovated and practiced.
In particular, the "Miners' Tet" program has created its own brand, a continuous highlight with the goal of "All workers have Tet". The Group maintains a minimum spending of 10 million VND/person for Tet, an increase of 20-40% compared to before, applied to all employees regardless of job position. In addition, TKV Trade Union has provided additional support to about 9,500 workers in difficult circumstances, each person with 2 million VND, the total amount of money for Tet care in 3 years reached 42.9 billion VND.
The "Union Shelter" program also had a clear change. In 2023, the support level for building MACD houses will be increased from 60 million to 80 million VND/house; by 2025, it will continue to increase to 90 million VND. In 3 years, TKV Trade Union has supported the construction and repair of 477 houses, with a total cost of 31.2 billion VND. Many units have also proactively provided additional support to workers, such as Mong Duong Coal supporting an additional VND60 million/household, Cua Ong Coal Team supporting an additional VND50 million/household.
At the same time, trade unions at all levels coordinate with professionals to implement many welfare policies: Improving the quality of shift meals; renovating collective rooms according to the "clean - beautiful - civilized" model; organizing more than 237,000 tours and vacations; health check-ups for 305,738 and supporting nursing 23,800 in the whole industry, supporting workers to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
Comprehensive care activities, from accommodation, health to spiritual well-being, contribute to creating motivation, helping workers to be more confident and attached to the Coal - Mineral Industries.
Emulation for innovation: internal strength creates momentum for the Coal - Mineral Industries
In addition to taking care of people's lives, TKV Trade Union identifies the emulation movement as an important driving force to promote innovation, directly contributing to the Group's production and business efficiency. Movements such as "Good workers - Creative workers", "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" are regularly implemented, associated with the characteristics of each unit.
After Typhoon Yagi, the 9-day and night production emulation movement to overcome the consequences of the storm helped units quickly stabilize production. In early 2025, the movement to promote the production and consumption of Alumina in the context of favorable selling prices has brought about clear results, contributing to increasing the group's revenue and profit.
Results from emulation movements: There have been 15,494 initiatives, technical improvements, and solutions of workers implemented with a total value of over 1,355 billion VND. In 2025, comrade Pham Dinh Duan, a worker at Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, was honored by the President to be awarded the title of Labor Hero.
The 7th Congress of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Trade Union will take place on December 15, 2025. This is an important political event for cadres, union members, workers and trade unions at all levels in the whole industry. The Congress is tasked with summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Congress, 2023-2025 period and setting out goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress's motto is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
