The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a summary of the workers' movement and trade union activities in 2025 on the morning of February 4.
The report of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that in 2025, with the efforts of the entire Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union system, nearly 2.16 million turns of trade union members and workers were supported and cared for in many practical and effective forms; the total care cost was more than 1,213 billion VND, showing the close attention and companion role of the trade union organization in protecting and caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers. Speaking at the summary ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that the number of union members and grassroots trade unions in Ho Chi Minh City accounts for nearly 25% of the total number of union members and grassroots trade unions nationwide. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City trade union organization plays an important role in the operation of the Vietnamese trade union organization.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung requested the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union organization to quickly stabilize its organization, innovate its operating methods, and at the same time proactively train and educate trade union officials, especially grassroots trade unions, and actively coordinate with local authorities to solve problems arising right at the grassroots level, meeting the requirements of tasks and activities of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the new situation.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung also proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City trade union organization continue to innovate care work, promote decentralization to grassroots levels to directly care for union members and workers.
Along with that, it is necessary to continue to innovate and create, strengthen and promote the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and build data in trade union activities to connect with the national data system.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation launched a emulation movement in 2026 and organized the awarding of the Second-class Labor Medal and the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to 2 trade union officials; awarded a symbolic plaque to care for the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 with 350,000 gifts (worth 350 billion VND), 18 Trade Union Warm Houses to representatives of working groups directly under the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to present to union members and workers.
At the same time, awarding Emulation Flags to 16 collectives that have made outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good labor and building a strong Trade Union organization in 2025.
