Within the framework of the working delegation surveying and grasping the situation of coastal sea and island areas in the Central region in 2026 organized by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, recently, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Vice President Thai Thu Xuong deployed many activities to visit and encourage officers, soldiers and people in sea and island areas.
In Nhon Chau commune (Cu Lao Xanh island), Gia Lai province, representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented gifts to 7 armed forces units on duty on the island, each worth 5 million VND to encourage officers and soldiers to continue to successfully complete the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
In the Ly Son special zone, Quang Ngai province, the working delegation presented 1 TV to An Hai Secondary School - the locality with the first fishing union in the country; presented 30 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to policy families, members of fishing unions and fishermen in difficult circumstances; presented 10 bicycles to students overcoming difficulties and studying well; and presented 5 gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to fishing boats anchored at Ly Son port.
In Tan Hiep commune (Cu Lao Cham island, Da Nang city), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor donated 1 set of computers to serve the work of local Party committees and authorities, contributing to supporting digital transformation and improving management and administration efficiency.
The entire gift budget is deducted from the "Meaningful Affection for Hoang Sa, Truong Sa" Program of the Golden Heart Charity Fund. This is an activity implemented according to the Plan of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on participating in the working delegation to survey and grasp the situation of coastal sea and island areas in the Central region in 2026.
Through the working trip, the delegation surveyed and grasped the political security and social order and safety situation in coastal and island localities; exchanged with Party committees and authorities about the lives of people, union members, and workers; and at the same time deployed social security activities, contributing to sharing difficulties with fishermen, policy families and forces performing tasks at the forefront.
The activity continues to affirm the feelings and responsibilities of the Vietnam Trade Union organization towards cadres, soldiers, fishermen and people in sea and island areas; contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, spreading the spirit of turning towards the sea and islands of the homeland, joining hands to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.
