Job stabilization for workers
Immediately after Panko Vina Co., Ltd. announced the termination of production and business of the factory in My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park (from February 1, 2026), agencies in Ho Chi Minh City had a meeting with businesses and workers.
Mr. Truong Van Phong - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the unit has connected and many businesses want to recruit workers of Panko Vina Co., Ltd. The Management Board has requested businesses to arrange time and create favorable conditions for businesses to directly come to the company to recruit workers, ensuring that workers are not unemployed.
Representatives of the grassroots Trade Union of Panko Vina Co., Ltd. also said that the unit has reported to the system of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union about the business situation and shared information with trade union chairmen of other companies, thereby connecting to introduce jobs to workers. Currently, many units have contacted to recruit workers, and workers are also approaching to have a choice.
Meanwhile, from a local perspective, on January 4 and 11, Thoi Hoa Ward People's Committee organized a job fair. 34 businesses in Thoi Hoa ward and neighboring wards have recruited with a demand of over 10,000 workers.
Leaders of the Ward People's Committee said that the job fair is one of the activities to care for workers who have lost their jobs. Through this program, they want to connect to help workers stabilize their jobs and lives before the 2026 Lunar New Year.
Trade union takes care of Tet for workers
The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union has directed the trade unions of communes, wards and grassroots trade unions to review and grasp the lives of workers. At the same time, make a list of workers in difficult circumstances for the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union to take care of during the 2026 Lunar New Year.
This year, the theme of the program is "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" and the motto is "All union members and workers have Tet, celebrate Tet". The target of care are union members and workers who have accidents, serious illnesses, prolonged illnesses, occupational diseases. The Trade Union supports workers who have lost their jobs, have reduced working hours, stopped working, and temporarily suspended labor contracts due to business difficulties...
According to records, the Northern area of Ho Chi Minh City has 3 local management teams of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union, the unit has allocated gifts to support teams to give to union members and workers. The care level for each case is from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND. The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union will care for about 117,000 workers in the Northern area of Ho Chi Minh City.
Many activities will be organized such as "Tet Sum vay" associated with the program "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026". Trade union levels will encourage visits, give gifts, and donate bus tickets, train tickets, air tickets... to workers in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - informed that the Head of Task Force No. 9, the unit assigned to give 20,000 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. The Task Force will give 24 air tickets, 100 train tickets, 600 bus tickets to workers in difficult circumstances who have not returned to their hometowns for Tet for many years. Notably, workers who have lost their jobs and encountered difficulties will also be supported from 500,000 to 1 million VND.
