Vinh Long workers apply AI to improve productivity

AN NHIÊN |

Trade unions at all levels have implemented the movement "digital education" to help improve union members' skills and effectively protect workers' rights.

Workers gradually master technology

The "Digital learning movement" launched by the Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union aims to eliminate "digital skills metrics" for workers. The goal is to improve basic digital knowledge, help them adapt to the 4.0 market and leave no one behind.

Mr. Cao Huu Trong Bac - Chairman of the Trade Union of LEFASO Tra Vinh Industrial Investment and Production Joint Stock Company - said that at first, many workers were afraid of accessing technology and were afraid of making mistakes when using smartphones or new software. But thanks to direct guidance, they gradually got used to basic operations, knowing how to use information lookup applications and Zalo to serve their work.

Some older workers also try to apply basic AI tools to find documents, which helps them become more confident and increase productivity. The movement also creates a connection between workers and trade unions, everyone studies together happily" - Mr. Bac added.

Mr. Truong Hoang Huynh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Mega Surplus Shoes Company Limited - said that thanks to the digital class, workers know how to look up the law, grasp job notices and apply digital skills to support daily work. The movement helps older workers become more confident, no longer afraid of using technology, improve their learning spirit and improve their skills. Many people now proactively look up information and share knowledge with colleagues, and labor efficiency has increased significantly" - Mr. Huynh added.

Many workers, laborers and grassroots union leaders affirmed that the "digital education" movement helps workers improve their digital skills, change their habits, increase work efficiency and connect with the union.

Digital transformation helps protect workers' rights

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that digital transformation is not only a trend but also a mandatory requirement for trade unions to effectively perform their role of representing and protecting workers' rights.

According to Mr. Linh, the trade union pays special attention to the group of low-skill and older workers, who are easily behind if they lack digital skills. The goal is to leave no one behind, while helping them access information and legal services quickly and promptly.

At the same time, Vinh Long Trade Union also promotes the digitalization of internal management: Standardizing the database of union members, digitalizing administrative processes, implementing online legal consultation, while improving the capacity of key staff. Thanks to digitalization, union officials can immediately support workers via text messages or video calls, solve legal problems, provide consultation on rights and support daily work.
