Nearly 1 billion VND to care for union members and workers
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Phuc - Chairwoman of the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union, Da Nang city, said: as an inter-communal model, the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union currently manages 27 grassroots trade unions and trade unions in 06 neighboring communes, with more than 3,000 union members.
The area is large, the number of union members and workers is dispersed, and constantly fluctuates, causing the work of grasping the situation, caring for and protecting workers to pose many new requirements for the Nui Thanh commune trade union organization.
In that context, the Standing Committee of the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union has identified the motto of strongly focusing on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center of all activities. Trade union officials regularly meet directly with workers to listen to their thoughts and aspirations, and promptly provide support when difficulties arise.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the work of caring for union members and workers achieved many outstanding results. The Commune Trade Union and grassroots trade unions have presented 705 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of more than 701 million VND.
Two union member families were supported to build and repair "Trade Union Homes" with a total value of 120 million VND; many union members with critical illnesses were promptly supported; fishermen in distress at sea were shared and encouraged to continue to reach out to sea and stick to the sea.
The care work of the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union in the first 6 months of 2026 is increasingly deepening, bringing practical effectiveness. The highlight is the program "Together to School" which has mobilized nearly 40 million VND from businesses, grassroots trade unions and philanthropists to support children of union members in difficult circumstances.
The "Trade Union Meal" model implemented at enterprises not only contributes to improving the quality of lunch meals but also shows the concern of trade union organizations and businesses for workers.
Resolving many labor disputes
Also according to Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Phuc, the highlight in the first 6 months of the year is that the Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union has proactively coordinated with the Party Committee, government and functional agencies to resolve many cases related to labor relations.
At Nui Thanh Garment Joint Stock Company, when feedback from the collective of employees about product norms and working hours arose, the Commune Trade Union quickly arrived at the enterprise, met with employees, and coordinated to organize dialogues with employers.
As a result, many legitimate recommendations of workers were received and adjusted by businesses, contributing to stabilizing the production situation and building harmonious labor relations right from the grassroots level.
The Nui Thanh Commune Trade Union also focuses on innovating propaganda content. Legal dissemination classes, contests to learn about the Trade Union Law, "Golden Bell Ringing" contests, "Songs of workers, civil servants, and laborers" are organized, contributing to raising legal awareness and building a spiritual and cultural life among union members.
In the coming time, the unit will continue to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots trade unions in non-state sector enterprises; improve the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; strengthen the application of digital technology, build a trade union organization that is increasingly close, professional and truly a support for workers" - Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Phuc said.
