According to Mr. To Can - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province - in early 2024, due to few orders, Nhat Hung Son Ha Company Limited had to cut labor and adjust working hours to maintain production. However, by August 2024, the company temporarily closed, causing workers to have no salary and not go to work at the company. The grassroots union also did not pay funds and union fees to the superiors as prescribed. The company has not paid salaries to 70 workers, with a total amount of 680 million VND, and owes social insurance of 149 million VND.
By November 12, 2024, the company had completed paying salaries to workers and social insurance for employees. The company no longer owed salaries and social insurance. Some workers have also returned to work.
Speaking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a worker who used to work at Nhat Hung Son Ha Company Limited confided: “I and many other workers at Nhat Hung Son Ha Company Limited were owed wages and social insurance, and production activities were also suspended, so we had to quit our jobs. After Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting on this, the company paid back wages and social insurance. We were very happy to hear that the company was preparing to let former workers return to work. We thank Lao Dong Newspaper for accompanying and sharing with the workers during difficult times.”
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Nhat Hung Son Ha Company Limited owes workers about 829 million VND in wages and social insurance, making the workers' lives difficult.
Immediately after Lao Dong Newspaper published an article reflecting on the situation, the company made efforts to pay back wages and social insurance to workers.
