On December 15, a press conference was held to inform about the 5th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (congress), term 2025-2030. Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) chaired the conference.
Sharing at the press conference, Mr. Le An Hai said that up to now, 14 corporation unions, general companies and nearly 150 grassroots unions have organized trade union congresses and conferences for the 2025 - 2030 term.
The 5th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union will take place over 2 days - December 18-19, at the International Convention Center, 11 Le Hong Phong, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
The Congress was attended by 300 official delegates called up from the Group's trade unions, corporations, and grassroots trade unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
With the motto: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress is tasked with objectively and comprehensively assessing the results achieved in the period of 2023 - 2025, while pointing out the shortcomings, limitations, and lessons learned after more than 2 years of implementing the Resolution of the 4th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; determining goals, targets, tasks, and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term. Reviewing the leadership and direction of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term IV; giving comments on the draft Political Report to be submitted to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; electing the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term V, 2025 - 2030 and electing delegates to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2026 - 2031.
According to Mr. Le An Hai, for the 2025-2030 term, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor sets the goal of: Innovation of content and methods of flexible trade union activities, in line with reality; focusing on representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, in a practical and effective manner;
Promote the pioneering role, proactively innovate the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees, make worthy contributions to the country's economic development, realize the aspiration to make Vietnam a developing country with modern industry, high average income and successfully achieve the goal set by the Industry and Trade sector on developing modern industry, improving competitiveness, and being among the leading groups in ASEAN; focus on building and training to elevate the team of union cadres with outstanding political mettle, qualities and abilities, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
It is known that in recent times, the emulation movements launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have been widely implemented.
Every year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to issue a joint Directive on organizing emulation movements, thereby implementing plans for each grassroots level, focusing on organizing emulation movements for good workers and creative workers with the goal of "Improving productivity, quality, efficiency, economy and ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", the emulation movement for creative and economical initiatives has brought high efficiency to units.
The spread of the emulation movement has affected union members and workers in the whole industry, units have creatively organized emulation movements and competitions in an industry and profession suitable to the production and business conditions of enterprises, typically: The movement "Good skills", "Good business, good management", "Each engineer has a topic, each union group has an initiative", the emulation movement "three good things" ...
"It can be said that the emulation movement of implementing units in the Industry and Trade sector has had high results. In the past time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has awarded nearly 500 creative labor certificates to individuals in the Vietnam Industry and Trade sector for their outstanding achievements in the movement "Good workers, Creative workers", with a value of thousands of billions of VND. Many initiatives and solutions cannot be calculated in money but have great social significance" - Mr. Le An Hai shared.
