Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; also attending the congress were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, People's Council, People's Committee, socio-political organizations, leaders of departments, branches, commune and ward party committees and 300 delegates representing nearly 150,000 union members and workers.
The Congress took place in the context that Nghe An and the whole country are implementing a two-level government model and strongly implementing innovation programs according to Resolution 39 of the Politburo, aiming to turn Nghe An into a fairly good province by 2030 and become a national growth pole. This is an important political event, summarizing the 2023 - 2025 journey with many fluctuations, while establishing a new vision for Trade Union activities in the new development stage.
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation emphasized that President Ho Chi Minh's ideology about the working class is always the foundation for the Trade Union to innovate and mature.
In recent years, despite being affected by the socio-economic situation and changing the apparatus according to the two-level model, Nghe An Trade Union has maintained positive results. The work of representing and protecting the rights of workers is increasingly substantial; the emulation movement spreads with tens of thousands of initiatives; the work of developing union members and building grassroots unions continues to expand.
The Congress set a goal for the 2025 - 2030 term of building a strong Trade Union organization, innovating thinking and action, focusing on union members and workers.
Three breakthroughs include building a team of professional union officials; developing union members associated with the establishment of grassroots unions; promoting digital transformation in all activities. Key tasks focus on improving the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; increasing union member welfare; innovating propaganda according to the motto "Fast - Short - Deep - Short"; developing union members in the informal sector; strengthening labor relations and strengthening inspection and supervision.
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed that the tradition of Truong Thi - Ben Thuy workers and the peak of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh are always a source of motivation for today's generation of workers to overcome difficulties, be creative, and contribute to the development of the province.
He said that the labor force in industrial parks is expected to increase by 80,000 -100,000 people by 2030, both opening up great opportunities and setting new requirements for the Trade Union in caring for life, welfare, housing, trade union institutions and building a stable working environment.
The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee suggested that the Trade Union continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, closely following the grassroots; focus on training union officials to be brave, responsible, and close to workers; enhance digital transformation to promptly grasp the thoughts of workers and proactively participate in solving problems in labor relations.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung highly appreciated the comprehensive results that Nghe An Trade Union has achieved in the past term, from representing and protecting workers' rights to developing union members, expanding grassroots trade unions and organizing many activities to care for and be rich in humanity.
He emphasized that the signing of more than 480 collective labor agreements, the effective implementation of the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Shelter", and thousands of initiatives spread have affirmed the role and prestige of the Provincial Trade Union in the political system and in enterprises.
In that spirit, he suggested that in the 2025 - 2030 term, Nghe An Trade Union continue to innovate thinking, promote digital transformation, improve the quality of dialogue - negotiation, better care for union members' welfare and build a team of professional, brave and close union officials.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, this is an important foundation for the Provincial Trade Union to promote the pioneering spirit of the Nghe An working class, contributing to the implementation of the goal of rapid and sustainable development of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland.
At the first working session, the Congress elected the Provincial Trade Union Executive Committee, term XX, consisting of 29 members, the Standing Committee, consisting of 9 members and elected 12 delegates to the Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
The Congress passed the Resolution of the 20th Nghe An Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030. At the same time, unifying the motto of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", demonstrating the determination to build an increasingly strong and modern Nghe An Trade Union organization, closely associated with workers, contributing to the prosperous development of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland.
