Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of CIC Group Joint Stock Company (An Giang), shared: as a worker (NLĐ), she is very interested in and closely follows information about the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress. Ms. Hanh realized that the Congress looked directly at the core and most critical issues of workers today, from jobs, income, social housing to welfare and insurance. The Congress's introduction of breakthrough action programs makes workers feel very excited and have more faith.
Ms. Hanh expressed: "In the new term, my biggest expectation is that the resolutions of the Congress will soon go into life in a substantive way. Regarding income and employment, I hope the Trade Union will continue to have a strong voice in negotiating the regional minimum wage, ensuring that workers' income is enough to live on and have savings in the face of the storm of prices. Regarding welfare and social security, I hope the Trade Union will further promote policies to care for Trade Union shelters, build social housing, and nurseries specifically for workers' children in industrial parks so that we can feel secure in our careers. Regarding protection of rights, I hope that the Trade Union organization will always be a solid support, intervene promptly and protect the legitimate rights of workers when disputes or social insurance issues occur.

Ms. Hanh also shared that the Prime Minister's dialogue is very meaningful, showing the understanding and closeness of the head of the Government towards workers' lives. Issues raised for discussion such as salaries, social insurance, and social housing are all the biggest bottlenecks determining whether employees can stick with the profession for a long time or not.
After this dialogue, what we expect most is practical action and implementation progress from ministries and sectors to concretize the Prime Minister's commitment. We hope the Government will have synchronous solutions to control inflation and stabilize prices of essential goods (electricity, water, boarding rooms, food). If wages increase but prices increase faster, the dialogue will lose its practical meaning. Regarding the one-time social insurance withdrawal, we expect the Government to soon complete and implement the amendments to the Social Insurance Law in the direction of increasing attractiveness, reducing the conditions for enjoyment so that employees can rest assured to stay in the system, instead of using administrative measures to tighten it. Regarding the commitment to social housing, we hope the Government will drastically remove administrative procedures so that preferential social housing credit packages can be implemented, helping workers access capital to borrow to buy houses with interest rates truly suitable for low income levels," Ms. Hanh emphasized.
