The talks took place on December 15, chaired by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central Trade Unions, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Party Secretary, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Mr. Andi Gani Nena Wea - Chairman of the ASEAN Trade Union Council (AseanTUC), the Indonesian Trade Union Federation (KSPSI).

The two sides discussed the workers' movement and trade union activities. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang highly appreciated the delegation's visit, demonstrating the good friendship between the two countries' trade unions and Mr. Andi Gani Nena Wea's concern for enhancing the common voice of the trade union movement in the region.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor informed about the current activities of the Vietnam Trade Union. In particular, in recent times, the Vietnam Trade Union has actively implemented and achieved many important results in performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting union members and workers.
The representative of the Vietnam Trade Union effectively exercises the role of a member of the National Wage Council in proposing to negotiate the annual minimum wage in accordance with the actual situation. Most recently, the regional minimum wage increase of 7.2% was successfully negotiated, applicable from January 1, 2026. In 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will organize the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2026-2031 term.
Based on the traditional relationship between the two countries and between the two trade union organizations as well as good cooperation in the ASEAN mechanism, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hopes to continue promoting and bringing the cooperative relationship with KSPSI into depth, practicality and efficiency in the coming time.
The two sides can promote the sharing of information and experience on trade union activities, including collective labor agreements, in many forms such as exchanging delegations and organizing online exchanges.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that the two organizations continue to closely coordinate in international forums and the AseanTUC framework to contribute to the common voice of ASEAN workers on emerging issues such as labor migration, green transformation, digital transformation, adaptation to the process of automation and sustainable social security development.
President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang also expressed his hope that as President of AseanTUC, Mr. Andi Gani Nena Wea will continue to support the participation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, further promoting its role and voice in AseanTUC.

At the meeting, Mr. Andi Gani Nena Wea respectfully invited Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang to visit and work in Indonesia as well as be ready to exchange experiences with Vietnam Trade Union officials.
Mr. Andi Gani Nena Wea emphasized his desire to soon promote the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the two organizations. It is known that KSPSI is a large trade union in Indonesia.
On this occasion, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized that the visit of Mr. Andi Nena Wea and the high-ranking delegation was an important milestone, contributing to enhancing understanding, trust and cooperation between the Vietnam Trade Union, KSPSI and AseanTUC, and believing that from the good foundation of relations between the two countries, the cooperation between the two Trade Union organizations will continue to develop strongly, practically and effectively; contributing to the process of building a united, self-reliant, and sustainable ASEAN Community, for the better rights and life of people in general and workers in particular in the region.
