Within the framework of the program, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a high-level meeting with Ms. Amarjeet Kaur, General Secretary of the All-India Trade Union Federation, and leaders of AITUC and the Indian Banking Industry Trade Union. At the meeting, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed the traditional and good relationship between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and AITUC for many decades; and at the same time, he respectfully thanked the valuable support that the people of India and the leaders and union members of the AITUC have given to the people and workers of Vietnam during the period of national liberation struggle. The two sides agreed to highly appreciate the results of cooperation in recent times, commit to continue to strengthen relations, promote delegation exchanges, share union experience and support each other in international forums to contribute to promoting the rights of workers in each country.
During their working period in India, the Vietnam Trade Union Delegation also had exchange activities with industry unions under AITUC, exchanging experiences in developing union members, collective bargaining and protecting workers' rights in the new context. The delegation visited and worked with trade unions at the Mathura petrochemical refinery, learning about the model of grassroots trade union organization and the activities of trade unions in enterprises.
Also within the framework of the visit, the delegation combined research and learned about India's experience in areas such as labor dispute resolution; signing electronic labor contracts; collective bargaining methods in the context of the existence of many Trade Union organizations. Thereby drawing practical lessons valuable for the activities of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The visit and work in India of the Vietnam Trade Union Delegation has contributed to strengthening the traditional friendship, enhancing practical cooperation between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and AITUC, and opening up many new directions for cooperation in the coming time.
