On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21,25 - June 21, 2025), on June 10, a working delegation of Lao Dong Newspaper led by Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of the delegation, offered incense and flowers to commemorate leader Nguyen Duc Canh at the commemorative area in Diem Dien town, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.
The delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate comrade Nguyen Duc Canh - the outstanding leader of the workers' and martyrs' movement Ho Ngoc Lan - a loyal party member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and reviewed the difficult but glorious days and heroes during the revolutionary activities of the two comrades.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh is the first Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Trade Union.
On July 28, 1929, at house number 15 Hang Non street, Hanoi, then Thuan My beverage shop, an important conference was held, which later became a historic event: The conference to establish the Bac Ky Red Cross Society. The conference was attended by 7 delegates chaired by comrade Nguyen Duc Canh. The conference elected comrade Nguyen Duc Canh as interim Director, and decided to launch a newspaper named Lao Dong Newspaper.
After the conference on July 28, comrade Nguyen Duc Canh immediately started preparing to launch Lao Dong Newspaper. The place to make the newspaper was a small house in Thong Phong alley at the beginning of Hang Bot street, today Ton Duc Thang street.
In difficult and deprived circumstances, Lao Dong Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Bac Ky Red Cross Society was urgently prepared and promptly published its first issue on August 14, 1929, with comrade Nguyen Duc Canh as Editor-in-Chief. Since then, each issue of Lao Dong Newspaper has been welcomed by readers of all walks of life.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21,25 - June 21, 2025), which is also nearly 96 years of efforts to maturity, Lao Dong Newspaper has now affirmed its position by always sticking to diverse information, reflecting the vibrant daily life of people and workers across the country. Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh (1908 - 1932) was a founder of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Secretary of the Bac Ky Fourth Party Committee, former President of the Bac Ky Red Trade Union (the predecessor of today's Vietnam Trade Union), former First Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee and former First Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Trade Union.
