Caring for union members and workers in difficult circumstances
The Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor has promptly implemented a plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers in Dong Nai province on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo in 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung - Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, the organization is carried out synchronously at 2 levels of the grassroots Trade Union and the Provincial Federation of Labor, ensuring flexibility and diversity in forms of care, focusing more attention on union members and workers who are truly disadvantaged, have low income, suffer from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, have work accidents, lack of jobs, lose jobs, are owed wages, and enterprises do not have Tet bonuses.
At the same time, mobilize units, enterprises, philanthropists, especially employers to support resources to work with the Trade Union organization to care for and practically support union members and workers.
Depending on the unit's conditions, the Trade Union organizes activities "Tet Sum Vay", arts, sports, meetings, exchanges, lucky draws (socialising) in industrial parks, boarding houses, and enterprises, hoping that all union members and workers can enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet in a joyful and warm atmosphere.
The Provincial Federation of Labor will organize the "Tet Sum Vay" Program; "Workers' Family" Meeting; Visiting, encouraging, giving gifts to union members and workers...; Depending on the actual situation in the locality, unit, organize a "Workers' Family" Meeting for union members and workers in difficult circumstances who cannot return home for Tet, and workers in boarding houses.
For special enterprises, union members and employees who have to work through Tet, the Trade Union proactively coordinates and negotiates with employers, depending on actual conditions, to have appropriate bonuses and organize activities to enjoy Spring, celebrate Tet, visit, give gifts, and "age lucky money" according to traditional ethnic customs.
Mr. Le Nhat Truong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. - also said that the enterprise has about 17,000 union members and workers. As every year, in addition to giving Tet gifts, the union also takes care of train and bus tickets and organizes entertainment programs for union members and workers.
Early Tet bonuses retain workers
In addition, many businesses have prepared a Tet bonus plan for union members and workers.
A representative of the Board of Directors of a garment company in Thong Nhat commune, Dong Nai province shared: In 2025, the company is expected to exceed the assigned plan by more than 20%. Therefore, in addition to the income of workers increasing, the Binh Ngo Tet bonus in 2026 also increased. At the same time, the order has also been signed until the end of 2027, so the employment of workers is also guaranteed. In the near future, the enterprise will also expand production and recruit more workers.
Announcing bonuses early helps employees feel secure in production and stick with the company. From now until before and after Tet, the union will also have many more activities to continue taking care of workers' lives.
A representative of a company's grassroots union with a large number of workers in Tan Trieu ward, Dong Nai province also said that the Lunar New Year bonus is all included in the collective labor agreement, if changed, it will only be higher than the old policy.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang - Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, Head of the Industrial Parks Trade Union - suggested that grassroots trade unions focus on stabilizing labor relations at the end of the year; pay attention to union members' lives and jobs, especially negotiating welfare policies, salaries, bonuses, ensuring regimes and policies for union members and workers to work with peace of mind.
