Mr. Dang Ngoc Son is an IT systems employee, IT Operations Center (VNPT Information Technology Company).
Mr. Son and his wife have a son born in 2023, who is behind in motor mentally/chromatic abnormality and is deaf-mute from birth and is being treated for hearing loss. Since giving birth, Mr. Son's wife has not gone to work and stayed home to take care of her children.
"My salary is about 10 million VND/month, provided that my wife does not go to work, my children are sick, and I rent a house in the city... so life is very difficult," said Mr. Son.
In early 2025, Mr. Son's son had to undergo surgery for 600 million VND, he and his wife had to ask for support from both paternal and maternal families and borrow more money...
"It's hard but I'm not discouraged because in addition to the support of my family and friends, I also receive support from the company's union and the Vietnam Science and Technology Union. In Workers' Month 2025, I received money and gifts from the industry union to give to workers in difficult circumstances. I am very touched and grateful for the attention of the industry union to the workers...", Mr. Son said emotionally.
Also a member of the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union, Ms. Trinh Thi Hong Minh is currently an mining worker, the Northern Transport and Logistics Center, Postal Transport and Logistics Company (Vietnam Post Corporation).
Ms. Minh's salary is about 5 million VND/month, her husband is a freelancer with an unstable income. The whole family lives in an old 16m2 apartment in Thanh Xuan ward (Hanoi). In 2019, Ms. Minh was diagnosed with cancer, and her difficult life became even more difficult.
In the 2025 Workers' Month, Ms. Minh also received gifts from the Industry Union.
I was very touched and excited. The union donated 10 boxes of Ensure milk and 1 million VND in cash. Although the sharing is small, it helps me feel the concern of the Trade Union organization for workers in difficult circumstances... - Ms. Minh said emotionally.
According to the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union, during the Workers' Month and the Workers' Month for occupational safety and health in 2025, the Vietnam Trade Union organized many practical, meaningful and typical activities such as successfully organizing the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025; giving 450 vouchers (each voucher worth 300,000 VND) to 450 union members and 20 gifts (each including 1,000,000 VND in cash and 500,000 VND in kind) to union members in difficult circumstances at the launching ceremony; organizing visits and supporting 298 union members with a total amount of 298 million VND.
Trade unions at all levels supported and visited 3,366 union members with a total amount of VND 3.366 billion. In particular, the Vietnam Trade Union cooperated with Vietnam Post Corporation to open preferential booths for union members and workers participating in purchasing goods; coordinated with partners to provide health care and medical examination for cadres, union members and workers.
