450 billion VND per year to take care of Tet for workers
After the merger, Dong Nai province has 52 new industrial parks in operation, the whole province currently has 2,324 grassroots trade unions, units and enterprises with 743,988 union members/786,277 workers. With a large number of workers working in industrial parks and a large proportion of workers having hometown in the Central and Northern provinces, the work of taking care of Tet for workers in the province has always been of special interest to the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Federation of Labor and all levels and sectors so that workers in Dong Nai can have a happy and fulfilling Lunar New Year.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year every year, Trade Unions at all levels have organized many practical care programs such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Tet Reunion Train", "Union Tet Market", distributing tens of thousands of gifts from the Trade Union and the provincial budget with a total budget of about 450 billion VND per year.
In the past 3 years, the Lunar New Year 2023, Dong Nai has taken care of workers with 70,000 gifts from the grassroots trade union, 2,258 gifts from the Provincial Federation of Labor, and 30,000 gifts from the Provincial People's Committee.
For the 2024 Lunar New Year, Dong Nai has taken care of more than 77,000 gifts from the grassroots trade union, 2,688 gifts from the provincial labor federation, and 30,000 gifts from the provincial People's Committee.
For the Lunar New Year 2025, Dong Nai has also spent about 450 billion VND to take care of Tet gifts for more than 700,000 union members and workers. Of which, trade unions at all levels contributed 380 billion VND, the Provincial People's Committee supported 30 billion VND for 30,000 disadvantaged workers and socialized enterprises with an additional 40 billion VND.
In particular, union members and workers in difficult circumstances, affected by employment, occupational accidents... are given special attention.
The union has visited and presented gifts to thousands of workers in difficult circumstances, who have had work accidents during work, reduced working capacity, and suffered from serious illnesses (each case received 2 million VND);
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee supports 30,000 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) for union members and workers in difficult circumstances who have had work accidents, serious illnesses, lost their jobs, and have not been able to return home for Tet for many consecutive years with a total amount of 30 billion VND.
The Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated with the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai Province to present hundreds of gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the province.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh - a worker at Cu Thanh Company Limited shared that she is from Hau Giang province (now Can Tho city), has been a worker for 8 years, her husband is a plowing worker raising 3 children, and her life is very difficult. Receiving gifts from the union, she felt very happy and warm during the Lunar New Year.
Lunar New Year 2026 continues with thousands of affectionate tickets to bring workers home
In addition, activities to support vehicles to return home for Tet are also focused on, becoming a highlight in activities to care for Tet for workers in Dong Nai with thousands of free or discounted bus, train and plane tickets.
The "Union Members' Tet Train - Spring 2025" program brought 1,000 union members and workers back to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lung, from Hai Duong province (now Hai Phong city), a worker who has worked for more than 14 years at TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park), feels moved because after more than 5 years, she, her husband and youngest son have the opportunity to return home to celebrate Tet with their family on the Tet train organized by the Trade Union.
Ms. Lung is a very difficult case for workers, she herself has a serious illness but is still a pillar in the family because her husband is sick and has not been able to work for many years. Therefore, her family can only manage their daily lives, the train home to celebrate Tet has been her family's dream for many years. Ms. Lung confided: "Every Tet holiday, train and bus tickets to return home for Tet are very expensive, each ticket is worth a month's salary. Now that the union has supported the round-trip ticket, my family feels very happy and joyful".
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has promptly implemented a plan to take care of the Lunar New Year 2026 for union members and workers in the province. The Provincial Federation of Labor continues to organize the "Union Members' Tet Bus - Spring 2026" Program to support 2,200 bus tickets to take union members and workers home to celebrate Tet and return to work.
With the attention of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Dong Nai was allocated 450 train tickets and 120 plane tickets to take union members and workers home to celebrate Tet; The program "Union Tet Market - Spring 2026 - Online" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with 9,300 vouchers for Dong Nai union members to buy goods at a face value of VND 500,000/voucher when participating in the program.
Ms. Bui Thi Bich Thuy - Permanent Vice President of Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor said: The organization is carried out synchronously at 2 levels of grassroots trade unions and the Provincial Federation of Labor, ensuring flexibility and diversity in forms of care, paying more attention to union members and workers who are truly disadvantaged, have low income, suffer from serious illnesses, occupational diseases, have work accidents, lack of jobs, lose jobs, are owed wages, and enterprises do not have Tet bonuses.
