Implementing Instruction No. 02 dated July 4, 2025 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor has directed trade unions at all levels in the province to implement the "Union Meal" Program.
The program has received the attention of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and peer-level experts, especially trade unions at all levels and leaders of units, enterprises, and employers.
During the implementation process, trade unions at all levels in Lao Cai province have been flexible and creative in organizing many meaningful and practical activities such as: Admitting union members; supporting union members and workers in difficult circumstances; giving gifts to encourage children of union members and workers to overcome difficulties to strive to improve their learning; launching "Skilled Mass Mobilization" models, cultural exchange activities, sports exchanges, etc.

According to the leader of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor, "Union Meals" not only bring full meals but are also an opportunity for the union and businesses to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers but also become a humane symbol of the Trade Union organization in the journey to care for workers.
According to the synthesis, from July 2025 to present, 71 units have organized "Union Meals" for 9,719 people with an amount of 662.8 million VND. Of which, 365.5 million VND is from the union's financial resources, the remaining amount is supported by units and enterprises.
Mr. Vi Viet Trung, Chairman of the Tran Yen Commune Trade Union, said: This is the second time in 2025 that the unit has implemented the "Union Meal" Program (formerly the old Tran Yen District Labor Federation).
Accordingly, the Program is organized by grassroots trade unions in coordination with units and enterprises on a scale suitable to each actual condition; rich and diverse locations (collective kitchens, unit dining rooms, enterprises, common living rooms, etc.) with diverse forms, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.

Mr. Le Ngoc Bao Tin, Deputy Director of Phu Tai Food Company Limited, highly appreciated the "Union Meal" Program. The activity not only has practical significance in caring for the lives and health of workers, but also contributes to strengthening the connection between trade unions, enterprises and workers.
Through the program, we see the close attention of the trade union organization, thereby giving businesses more motivation to accompany in caring for, protecting the rights and improving the lives of workers and laborers, Mr. Tin emphasized.
Attending the "Union Meal", Mr. Ha Van Thang, a member of the Union of Thien An Vietnam Wood Industry Company Limited, shared: "Union staff prepare very carefully and prepare delicious meals. Business leaders are also interested in and visit workers' lives. Everyone is very excited and hopes that this program will be held regularly.
