On October 4, Can Tho City Police organized a drill on fire fighting and rescue (CC&CNCH) at the city level in 2025 at TKG Taewkang Can Tho Company Limited.
This is a large-scale urban plan to mobilize 16 units, 61 vehicles and nearly 600 participants.

According to the hypothetical situation, at around 8:30 a.m., due to the aftershock of an 8.0 Richter earthquake (the impact was about 500km away), part of Factory 3 (shoe sole pressing area) of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Company Limited collapsed, the power system collapsed and caused a fire.
The main fuel was plastic grains, glue, solvents, semi-finished products... causing the fire to spread quickly over an area of about 2,000m2, accompanied by high temperatures, smoke and toxic gas. The fire continued to spread to the power station, causing a transformer to explode, and oil to burn into the surrounding area, making rescue and firefighting difficult.

At the time of the incident, there were about 400 workers working. Due to the collapse of the project, high temperatures and toxic smoke, workers panicked and tried to escape, causing chaos. 20 people were trapped, 5 members of the grassroots fire prevention team suffocated and fainted while on duty. The local fire prevention and fighting force quickly deployed fire fighting, instructed evacuation, rescued people and immediately reported to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police - Can Tho City Police.
The drill was conducted through 3 stages: Fire prevention and fighting force (PCCC) of TKG Taekwang Company Limited deployed initial fire fighting and rescue work; Director of the City Police mobilized forces and means to support fire fighting and rescue; Chairman of the City People's Committee mobilized forces and means according to authority to strengthen and support fire fighting and rescue work.

At the drill, Colonel Le Duc Bay - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police emphasized that fire prevention and fighting & search and rescue plays a particularly important role in protecting the lives and property of people and businesses, while creating a stable foundation for socio-economic development.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the process of participating in the city-level fire fighting and rescue plan drill in 2025.
