Since the Lunar New Year of the Lunar New Year 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam has launched cadres, union members and employees of the banking industry to support at least 1 day salary to the same bank industry "Joining hands to erase 1,000 temporary houses, dilapidated houses" in the country, responding to the peak 350 days and nights to successfully implement the program "The whole country joins hands to erase the temporary houses, dilapidated houses" in 2025.
At the launching ceremony, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union shared: "Housing is one of the essential needs of people, is one of the factors contributing to the development of human resources of the country. The care of housing for people is always concerned and determined by our Party and State as a social issue, a sustainable social security."
According to Mr. Dao Minh Tu, responding to the Prime Minister's call, from April 2024, the banking industry has committed to support VND 1,300 billion (VND 220 billion at the launching ceremony of the movement to erase temporary houses and dilapidated houses in Hoa Binh on April 13, 2024; 1,000 billion VND at the Prime Minister's launch program on October 5, 2024; after October 5, 2024, the credit institutions continued to support 80 billion VND). The amount of support of the banking industry accounts for more than 16% of the country's total support for this program (nearly 8,000 billion VND).
This result clearly demonstrates the spirit, sense of responsibility and mutual love and affection of the banking industry for the work of supporting social security in general and the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in particular.
With the determination to accompany the Government and expressing affection and sense of responsibility to the society, the community and with the spirit of "not to let anyone be left behind" ... The Board of Directors of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Vietnam Bank Union called on all officials, union members and workers in the whole banking system with the spirit, the highest sense of responsibility to support the minimum of 1 day of the bank, "to the same house" Responding to the peak 350 days and nights successfully implementing the program "The whole country joined hands to erase temporary houses, dilapidated houses" in 2025 under the direction of the Prime Minister.
Contributing 1 day's salary from the income of cadres, civil servants, union members, and workers in the entire banking industry to the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses for the Poor so that no one is left behind has great humanitarian significance, is the morality and tradition of mutual love and support of Vietnamese people in general and of cadres and workers in the banking industry in particular for many generations.
Therefore, heads, leaders of units and union executive committees at all levels in the industry actively mobilize cadres and workers to respond to this meaningful activity in 2025" - Mr. Dao Minh Tu said.
Trade unions at all levels also actively participate in the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses. In Da Nang, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has launched a campaign for cadres, union members, workers and civil servants to participate in responding to the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses (pr program) in the city in 2025.
Accordingly, each full-time officer of the Da Nang City Trade Union will contribute 1 day's salary to implement the Program according to the Appeal Letter of the Da Nang City Fatherland Front Committee. Completion time is February 2025.
Along with that, the Da Nang City Trade Union at all levels called on and mobilized agencies, units, and enterprises in the spirit of voluntary contributions and support for the Program. At the same time, proactively advised the Party Committee, coordinated with the professional authorities at the same level, and employers to mobilize cadres, union members, and employees to volunteer to respond.
From the "Union Social Activities" fund, in 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation set a goal of building and repairing 60 "Union Shelters" with a total cost of 3.6 billion VND for union members with difficult housing circumstances.
