The workshop was attended by scientists, representatives of 19 Central Trade Unions and a number of Labor Federations of provinces and cities in the North.
Opening the workshop, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - emphasized that workers' culture is an academic gap, while workers' cultural life is facing many challenges. A large number of workers do not have the conditions to enjoy cultural values and even less the opportunity to create cultural values.
Many issues arise in labor and production culture; communication and behavioral culture; entertainment culture; family and community culture among workers. Today's workshop is of great significance in the context of the Party, State and Trade Union organizations striving to build a modern and strong working class and bring the country into a new stage of development, an era of national growth.
The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that scientists, delegates and union officials discuss and dissect to clarify the concept of workers' culture, influencing factors, constituent parts, influence - impact of workers' culture on corporate culture, on the development of enterprises; the current state of workers' cultural life; good models, practices in practice and proposals and recommendations.
The Vice President expressed his belief that the success of the workshop would provide more arguments in building plans and programs for cultural development among workers, contributing to the completion of documents of the 14th Party Congress and summarizing the Party's 40-year theory of innovation.
At the workshop, scientists and trade union officials exchanged, discussed and assessed the current situation, achievements and limitations in building Vietnamese workers' culture; analyzed and clarified the impacts of the 4.0 industrial revolution and international integration on Vietnamese workers' culture; solutions to raise awareness and the importance of building Vietnamese workers' culture in improving the quality of human resources; contributing to building and developing Vietnamese people's culture, meeting the requirements of sustainable development of the country, of the new era, the era of national development.
Propose models and methods for building corporate culture, worker culture and trade union operation methods suitable to the characteristics of each type of enterprise. From there, propose policies and solutions to create a good working environment, stable income and a richer cultural and spiritual life for workers and laborers.
Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Duong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Cultural Studies Journal - affirmed that when it comes to workers' culture, in addition to important aspects such as employment and income, workers' cultural and spiritual life is also an important aspect to improve the quality of life for workers.
Therefore, in building workers' culture, it implies the idea of creating aspects of workers' cultural life such as spiritual culture with specific activities, in which workers participate, receive the general rules of the enterprise, from there, interact, practice and create the workers' culture and the enterprise's culture.
These activities include: Labor and production culture, Communication and behavior culture, Entertainment culture, Family and community culture. These are both important cultural elements covering the lives of workers and important factors that make up the position and quality of life of Vietnamese workers today.
From reality, Mr. Ngo The Anh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Trade Union of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa Province - introduced the model of "Workers' Cultural Corner" - a highlight in the operation and development process of the Trade Union of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa Province.
After more than 2 years of implementation and replication, the model "Workers' Cultural Corner" is now present in 7 enterprises under the Trade Union of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa province.
