Supporting Gia Lai people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters

A delegation from the Construction sector came to present 1 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

On the afternoon of December 29, a working delegation of the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union led by Mr. Dao Van Tien, Deputy Secretary in charge of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction, visited, encouraged and presented 1 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province to support local people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.

The working delegation also included Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and all officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the Construction industry, Mr. Dao Van Tien expressed his sympathy and deep sharing for the losses and damage caused by natural disasters to the people of Gia Lai province.

At the same time, Mr. Dao Van Tien believes that with the attention of the political system at all levels and the joint efforts of the whole society, people in affected areas will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

According to Mr. Tien, although the gift is not materially large, it contains the heart and sharing of the entire Construction sector for people in disaster-stricken areas. Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, the Construction sector wishes to contribute a small part to support people to overcome damage and soon stabilize their lives, especially at the time when Tet Nguyen Dan is approaching.

Receiving support, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, said that Gia Lai is one of the localities heavily affected by the recent twin natural disasters of storms and floods, which is assessed as the largest natural disaster in nearly 80 years.

According to Mr. Luong, after the storm and flood, with the timely attention and support of the Central Government and local authorities, people's lives are gradually stabilizing. Currently, Gia Lai province is promoting the "Quang Trung lightning speed" campaign, striving to ensure that all people have houses before the Lunar New Year, determined to complete the goals ahead of schedule.

Recognizing and thanking the concern and sharing of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union and all officials and employees of the Construction industry, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province affirmed that this timely support will further motivate people to rebuild their lives and restore livelihoods after natural disasters.

At the same time, commit to using funds for the right purpose, effectively, publicly, and transparently.

On this occasion, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Gia Lai Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee also presented letters of thanks to the Ministry of Construction for their kind and humane gestures.

On the same day, the working delegation visited Binh Dinh Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company.

Here, the delegation presented 25 gifts to workers, each worth 2 million VND, and also presented gifts to the company collective, with a total value of 54 million VND. The activity shows the practical concern and care of the trade union organization for the lives of workers, especially at the end of the year.
