Previously, at around 10:30 p.m. on June 1, a major fire broke out at the construction workshop of Nam Chau Garment Joint Stock Company (in Dai Lam Industrial Cluster, Lang Giang district).
Because the factory area contained many materials and fire-prone clothes, the fire quickly spread, and thick toxic smoke and gas made firefighting difficult.
Although the authorities promptly took action, the fire was completely controlled at around 1:30 a.m. on June 2. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties, but the entire 2,000m2 of the factory, including warehouses, production lines and goods preparing for export, was burned down, causing heavy damage to businesses and directly affecting the lives of hundreds of workers. The total damage was over 70 billion VND.
In that situation, the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor decided to allocate the "Union Shelter" Fund to support 386 union members and workers of the Nam Chau Garment Joint Stock Company - a unit under the Lang Giang District Labor Federation - with VND 500,000 each. At the same time, the Federation also supported the enterprise with 10 million VND to partially overcome the consequences of the damage. The total support for this period is 203 million VND.
Mr. Le Duc Tho - Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation - shared at the support handover ceremony: "The Trade Union always accompanies workers, especially in difficult times. Hopefully, this small gift will contribute to encouraging the spirit of workers and businesses to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize production again."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, a worker at the company, emotionally said: Both my husband and I work here, now the company has caught fire, and we have to stop working for 5-6 months as announced. I am old, now that I have lost my job, it is very difficult to cope. We hope that all levels and sectors will continue to pay attention and support to overcome this difficult period.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company Nguyen Van Su thanked the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation, all levels and sectors for their attention and creating conditions for the company to quickly overcome the consequences of the recent fire.
Currently, Trade Unions at all levels are continuing to closely monitor the situation, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members to recommend appropriate support policies, leaving no one behind.
