From learning to specific action
The 5-year report on the implementation of Conclusion 01-KL/TW of the Da Nang City Labor Federation shows that the most prominent thing of the Da Nang Trade Union in the movement to learn from Uncle Ho is the clear shift from "learning" to "following" with specific actions.
In the context of workers' lives being heavily affected by epidemics, economic fluctuations, job pressure and living expenses, the Da Nang Trade Union organization has chosen to learn from Uncle Ho by focusing on caring for union members in the most practical needs.
Those are "Trade Union Buses", "Trade Union Trains", "Tet Sum vay", "Trade Union Meals", "Workers' Market", "Trade Union Homes" or support packages for workers who lost their jobs and reduced working hours during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the epidemic period alone, trade union levels in Da Nang have supported tens of thousands of union members and workers facing difficulties; awarded thousands of social security packages; supported workers to implement "3 on-the-spot"; organized programs such as "Thousands of liters of free gasoline" for workers from the South returning to their hometowns...
Those actions of the Da Nang Trade Union organization reflect the spirit of "taking people as the center" in Ho Chi Minh's ideology. Because with Uncle Ho, all policies must ultimately return to taking care of the people's lives specifically, not stopping at slogans or forms of mobilization.
It is worth noting that many models of the Da Nang Trade Union have followed this direction from quite early on. The "Workers' Self-Management Groups in Boarding Houses" model not only helps workers have a place to participate in community activities, access legal information, but also becomes a "backbone" for the Trade Union organization to grasp the thoughts of workers.
Or the investment in workers' cultural institutions, workers' housing, sports fields, reading rooms... shows that care thinking is no longer limited to short-term material support but towards improving the long-term quality of life for workers.
What workers need is substantive companionship
One of the notable points of Da Nang Trade Union activities in the past 5 years is that many contents of studying and following Uncle Ho have been directly linked to the task of protecting the rights of workers.
Over the past 5 years, Da Nang trade union levels have participated in inspecting and examining more than 1,000 businesses; providing legal advice to more than 10,000 union members; organizing more than 10,000 propaganda and legal dialogue classes for over 1 million workers. The rate of businesses organizing dialogues at workplaces reached 80%; nearly 87% of businesses signed collective labor agreements.
Those numbers show that learning from Uncle Ho is not only learning ethics of behavior, but also the spirit of daring to protect the legitimate rights of workers with specific actions.

The achievements from studying and following Uncle Ho through practical actions are also recognized through many typical examples of the Da Nang Trade Union organization.
The proof is that there are 4 collectives and individuals under the Da Nang City Labor Federation who were commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as advanced examples of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, including: the grassroots Trade Union of Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center; comrade Nguyen Thanh Trung - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, Deputy Director of Da Nang Hospital; comrade Nguyen Thi Anh Ly - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, Chief Accountant of U World Sports Vietnam Co., Ltd.; comrade Le Duong Luc - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, Head of Administration - Accounting Department of Hoi An Ward Market Management Board.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in the Trade Union organization must be expressed by the effectiveness of caring for and protecting workers.
In our opinion, studying and following Uncle Ho is only truly meaningful when workers feel that the Trade Union organization is accompanying them in daily life and work. From taking care of Tet, supporting difficulties to protecting legitimate rights, everything must be aimed at building the trust of union members in the Trade Union organization," Mr. Le Van Dai shared.
Reality also shows that in the context of the changing Trade Union organization model, the requirement is no longer to organize many movements, but to ensure that each activity solves the practical problems of union members and workers.
And it is also from these specific things that studying and following Uncle Ho has truly spread.
