On the afternoon of July 3, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation organized a conference to summarize the work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy directions and tasks for trade union work in the last 6 months of 2026. Mr. Le Thanh Trieu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province attended and directed the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2026, trade union levels in Ca Mau province mobilized more than 15 billion VND to care for tens of thousands of union members and workers; and recorded many positive results in developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, protecting workers' rights and digital transformation.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation, the whole province newly admitted 3,411 union members, reaching 41.4% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; newly established 25 grassroots trade unions and professional unions, bringing the total number to 451 units with more than 44,000 union members. Trade union levels introduced 265 outstanding union members for the Party to consider fostering and admitting, of which 61 union members were admitted to the Party.

To date, 7/10 work targets have reached from 83% to exceeding the annual plan. Many targets were completed in the first 6 months of the year, such as propaganda work, improving professional qualifications and skills for workers, signing collective labor agreements, implementing grassroots democracy regulations and inspection and supervision work.
The work of caring for union members continues to be a highlight. During the Lunar New Year and Workers' Month 2026, trade union levels implemented many practical activities such as supporting gifts, organizing "Trade Union Tet Markets", free health check-ups, and building 16 "Trade Union Homes". The total care cost is more than 15 billion VND, contributing to supporting tens of thousands of union members and workers to stabilize their lives and feel secure in their work.

In addition, the Provincial Labor Federation continues to promote emulation movements associated with improving labor productivity, promoting initiatives among workers, civil servants, and laborers. In the first 6 months of the year, the unit received 17 dossiers requesting consideration for the Creative Labor Certificate with initiatives that brought benefits of over 17 billion VND.
Digital transformation work is strengthened with the deployment of the digital Trade Union model, digital union members; more than 90% of provincial-level work records and over 85% of records at trade union levels are processed on the network environment, contributing to improving management and administration efficiency.

Besides the achieved results, the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation said that union member development is still facing difficulties due to many small-scale enterprises operating unstablely; the arrangement of medical units has reduced more than 1,500 union members.
In the last 6 months of the year, trade union levels will continue to focus on caring for union members and workers; mobilize more social resources, effectively implement the "Trade Union Shelter" program, prepare activities to care for the 2027 Lunar New Year, and strive to complete the work targets for 2026.
Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province Le Thanh Trieu praised the results achieved in the past time, and at the same time requested trade union levels in the coming time to further promote their roles, tasks, and functions, especially in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
