No one is left behind
Over 7,870 Tet gifts, worth more than VND 3.968 billion, were given in the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng". 45,725 union members and workers were also visited and supported with a total value of nearly 19 billion VND from socialized mobilization sources, grassroots unions and enterprises.
Sharing with PV, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong - Permanent Vice President of Lang Son Provincial Federation of Labor - said: "No one is left behind" continues to be a motto that all levels of the Trade Union have thoroughly grasped throughout the recent Tet holiday.
In the field of housing security, the Provincial Federation of Labor's Social Fund has supported 880 million VND for 29 union members, including 15 newly built houses and 14 repaired houses and two near-poor households were also supported with 60 million VND/household to build solid houses, replace temporary and dilapidated houses.
During Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to award 50 certificates of merit to outstanding workers and provided an additional support of 19 million VND to 5 union members in especially difficult circumstances. Some businesses have adjusted the value of shift meals and organized periodic dialogues with employees.
The union legal consulting team also received and consulted 108 union members, mainly related to termination of employment, unemployment insurance and work-related accidents. 87% of eligible enterprises have held Workers' conferences; nearly 90% have signed Collective Labor Agreements.
"Regarding life, the average income of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the province is 8.65 million VND/person/month, while enterprise workers reach 8.37 million VND/person/month. However, some small and micro enterprises still have social insurance debts and have not signed full contracts, affecting the rights of employees, said Mr. Vuong.
Will continue to expand the grassroots trade union system
As of May 31, 2025, the whole province has 1,285 grassroots unions, managing nearly 50,000 workers, of which more than 42,000 union members are union members, reaching a rate of 92.6%.
In the first 6 months of the year, the unit has conducted two major reorganization phases. Phase 1 ended the operation of 4 professional departments, 3 industry unions; at the same time, 3 new departments and 2 block unions were established.
Phase 2 ends the operation of 1,01 grassroots trade unions under the administrative sector, public service units receiving 100% of the State budget; ends the operation of 13 district, city and block trade unions; restructures the provincial trade union agencies from 3 units to 1 unit, which is the Trade Union Working Committee under the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee from July 1, 2025.
In addition, from June 20, 182 grassroots trade unions with 11,324 union members in the production and business sector and autonomous public service units have been transferred to the Provincial Federation of Labor for direct management.
"The task of caring for the lives of union members and workers has always been given top priority by the Labor Union of Lang Son. We will continue to expand the grassroots union system, especially in the non-state sector, and implement additional preferential credit programs, health care, and skills training for union members in the last 6 months of the year, Mr. Vuong added.
